After a conversation with Uma Thurman in 2020, director Quentin Tarantino revealed that a third Kill Bill could be in the future, although he said it would be at least three years until that film would be a possibility. With no confirmation of the film to date, some have speculated about who might star in such a film if it was made. The plot would surround the daughter of Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) seeking revenge on Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman) for murdering her mother in front of her in Kill Bill II, and Zendaya weighed in on recent casting rumors.

Fox stated recently that she thought actress Zendaya (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Dune) would be a perfect fit for the role of her character's daughter in a third Kill Bill film. Nothing is currently official with the third Kill Bill or Zendaya's role in it, however, the Dune star did graciously reply to Fox's generous recommendation. Zendaya clears the air, saying the comment held no weight.

"I saw that!" Zendaya said during an interview with Empire. "I was quite honored that she would say that. Obviously she’s incredible and I’m very flattered that she would think of me. But, you know, it’s just an idea. The internet kinda takes things and runs with it." Fox stated that she hoped that her recommendation would help kick start Kill Bill 3 in Tarantino's mind and rev up some excitement for the potential project. Fox explained that she believes Zendaya would add another layer of action and suspense to a prospective Kill Bill 3. Since Zendaya is tall like Thurman, the two would make a good match against each other. Zendaya responded positively to Fox's comments but seems convinced that nothing is tangible in the future, at least for now.

Zendaya as Chani in Dune

Tarantino has discussed on a few occasions some ideas for a Kill Bill 3 but has not placed anyone in the role of Vernita Green's daughter. On the other hand, Tarantino has previously stated some other casting choices including putting Thurman's own daughter, Maya Hawke, in the film as Beatrix's child. Of course, a metatextual choice such as that is characteristic of Tarantino's eclectic style. Zendaya and Hawke are within a year of each other's age and would also make excellent opponents (or companions) in a third installment.

Given Zendaya's increasing status as a young actress, her involvement in a Tarantino film would be welcomed with her recent background in action films. The future of Tarantino films is uncertain, with the iconic director announcing several times that his next film will be his last in his career.

Tarantino's last film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, only added another fantastic film under his belt. What will be next remains undetermined, but hopefully some more cinematic masterpieces, such as Kill Bill 3, will be in the works in the next few years.

Kill Bill Vol. 1 is now available on Netflix.
