In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players can find all sorts of materials to upgrade their armor, fuse to weapons and shields, make TotK recipes, and more. In order to get everything in the game properly upgraded, have plenty of items to sell, and have gems to fuse together, players will want to make sure they farm as many different materials as possible.

One great item for making money, upgrading certain armor, and changing into gems is the luminous stone, a stone that glows in the dark. There are thankfully loads of great places to farm them, but players will have to find them first.

What Are Luminous Stones in Tears of the Kingdom

Just like in the previous game in this series, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom uses luminous stones for a bunch of different things. Players can find armor that needs luminous stones to upgrade them, fuse luminous stones to weapons and shields, and more. Some of the uses of luminous stones are listed below:

  • Upgrading the Radiant Armor
  • Upgrading the Awakening Armor set
  • Feed to Dondons to get gems
  • Fuse to weapons for 1 attack power
  • Used to create navy dye in the Hateno Dye Shop

If Link is in need of these stones, players might find them somewhat elusive. Since luminous stones are so useful in Tears of the Kingdom, players will want to farm as many as possible wherever they are.

The Best Places to Farm Luminous Stones in Tears of the Kingdom

Luminous stones are not found in the Depths, but they can be found on both the surface and in the sky islands. Another great place to look for them is in caves. The best places to farm this mineral, however, is definitely in the sky islands, far above Hyrule proper. There are several great locations for these; the sky islands made almost entirely of luminous stones show up in several locations.

Another location for one of these glowing sky islands is the Sokkala Sky Archipelago, located around 4519, 2089, 1423. Another great place to find even more of these stones is around the Zora Domain and its surrounding areas. Keeping the Purah Pad searching for Luminous Stones while wandering around the world will also help find more stones.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for Nintendo Switch.
