A creative The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has built a multistage rocket within Nintendo’s latest open-world epic. Tears of the Kingdom may have only been on sale for a few days but that hasn’t stopped dedicated players from testing the limits of what Link can do in his latest quest to save Hyrule.
The latest entry into the long-running series not only expands on Breath of the Wild’s vast open world but also allows players to build their own weapons and machines using Link’s new Ultrahand and Fuse abilities. Since the game’s release on May 12, gamers have taken to social media to post their creations.
Over on Reddit, a user by the handle Bishlo has created a multiphase rocket to launch Link high into the Hylian sky. The construct utilizes three separate wooden structures but rather than being stuck together by Link’s new Ultrahand ability, they are arranged like a jigsaw puzzle. This allows the rocket to naturally separate once the Zonai rocket runs out of fuel. While the rocket doesn’t quite reach the Great Sky area found above Hyrule, fans were still impressed with how far the rocket ascended and are already discussing ways to improve on the build.
The rocket is another wholesome example of how players can use their imagination to create machines in Tears of the Kingdom. Other gamers however have different ideas of fun, as one player decided to crucify lost Koroks rather than reunite them with their companions. In the short clip posted to social media, the player parades the helpless forest creature through the fields of Hyrule as it is attached to a horse and cart.
With Link’s new abilities in Nintendo’s latest adventure, players are only scratching the surface of what is possible. Fans are making use of the new Fuse ability to create strange and wonderful weapons. The majority are useful, giving Link additional strength or defensive buffs. As one player found out, however, this isn’t always the case as they combined two components to make one of the least helpful boomerangs in Tears of the Kingdom.
While it is still early days for Tears of the Kingdom, players like Bishlo are already discovering how deep the new customizations go. The new Fuse and Ultrahand abilities are already causing some devastating additions, including one player who has built a flying death machine to reign terror in Hyrule. As folks spend more time in the game, there will undoubtedly be more outlandish creations to come.
