A Zelda fan discovers a reference to Kass in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, leading other players to wonder where the missing character could be. Kass is one of the most beloved characters from 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and players are having difficulty finding clues about his current whereabouts in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Kass is a wandering bard that aids Link in his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link is puzzled after meeting Kass for the first time since the Hylian hero doesn't recall meeting a member of the Rito before. The two characters become close friends after Kass discusses the role of the Court Poet, Kass's teacher who once served the Royal Family of Hyrule. Following the Court Poet's death, Kass was entrusted with the goal of sharing Ancient Songs with Link. Although Kass was a prominent character in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players are struggling to find him in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player SuperMK77 recently found a reference to Kass while progressing the "Potential Princess Sightings!" quest. Penn, a Rito NPC heavily involved with the quest, briefly discusses a famous bard that studied the songs of Hyrule with Link. Thus far, this dialogue appears to be one of the few references to Kass in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom alongside the ballad that Link occasionally hums while cooking food.

Several players speculate that Kass might return in new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom DLC with a dedicated questline. This idea was inspired by Zelda: Breath of the Wild's The Champion's Ballad DLC, which featured Kass heavily as one of the main NPCs.

Some Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players are optimistic about Kass's potential return, while others are frustrated or disappointed about the character's absence from the game. Kass quickly became a fan-favorite character in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the character would presumably be alive and well since Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom takes place directly afterward.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom datamining efforts suggest new DLC may be on the way featuring two new paraglider skins. These new skins may be added to the game alongside new locations and quests, but Nintendo have not confirmed that new DLC is in development for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If Nintendo plans to release new DLC, Zelda fans can expect notices from the company's official channels.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
