Meat arrows are a real item in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and players will be able to use them against enemies. Zelda fans have been waiting for a new entry to the series ever since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released back in 2017. Now, six years later, Tears of the Kingdom is closer than ever. Even though not much has been revealed regarding the actual main storyline of the sequel, it seems that the two Zelda games will be intrinsically connected.

The gameplay demonstration presented by series producer Eiji Aonuma back in March alluded to a few new abilities coming to Tears of the Kingdom. Viewers were impressed with the diversity of skills Link will have control over in this game and with how they allow players to make the most of their creative capacities, particularly with the Fuse and Ultrahand powers. When showcasing the Fuse ability, Aonuma used it on melee weapons, shields, and even arrows, and this is exactly what caught players' eyes. When fusing a material with his arrow, for a couple of seconds it was possible to see the wide variety of resources that could be used in the fusion process - raw Meat being one of them.

Right after the demonstration, fans became focused on the possibility of Meat Arrows actually being a thing in Tears of the Kingdom, and some gamers even went the extra mile and modded Meat Arrows in Breath of the Wild. Now, some gaming journalists have had the chance to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for a short period of time, and they decided they would finally try making this item to ease the mind of curious Zelda fans. The first subject GameXplain talked about regarding their time with the game is Meat Arrows, and it turns out they will be used to send Raw Meat flying as bait for enemies.

As many expected, Meat Arrows can be shot in order to bait an enemy toward a specific location. They will look at the meat at the end of the arrow and walk toward it to eat it, distracting them momentarily. On top of this, materials will also be throwable in-game, without the need to use the new Fuse skill, so it is likely that players can simply hold a piece of Raw Meat and throw it themselves.

This is just one of the various features that were discovered during the Tears of the Kingdom preview event. Those curious can now easily discover more about the game, and those that don't want any spoilers besides this detail will have to be careful browsing the web until May 12.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases May 12, 2023 for Nintendo Switch.
