The Great Hyrule Forest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is covered with fog, and players that attempt to enter it through the Lost Woods will find that their efforts are quickly thwarted. It is possible to get inside the forest, though, and no special items or quests are required. This guide is here to provide details on exactly how that is done, and it will help players conquer The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Lost Woods and access the Korok Forest that is beyond.

Updated August 21st, 2023: In Tears of the Kingdom, players will once again be tasked with entering the Great Hyrule Forest. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as navigating the strange fog this time. To reach the Great Hyrule Forest in TOTK that lies past the Lost Woods, players will need to instead head into The Depths and approach from the underside. This can be a bit confusing at first but once players understand what Chasm and path to take, they'll find themselves breaching the Great Forest of Hyrule in TOTK in no time. To better help showcase this path, the following guide has been updated with a video.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - How to Enter Great Hyrule Forest

Players that are attempting to reach the Korok Forest at the center of the Great Hyrule Forest should set their sights on the Minishi Woods Chasm at coordinates 1040, 1662, 0159. Upon arriving at this location, fans should jump into the chasm, using TotK's paraglider to land safely within the Depths' Minishi Grove.

From this position, players should follow the path northward, using Brightbloom Seeds to light their way as needed. After traveling in this direction for a short distance, fans will find that their clear path has come to an end, and it is at that point that they should climb a tree at coordinates 0866, 1900, -0624. Players should now use the treetops to move westward, and they will be notified that they are within Korok Grove when they reach a tree at coordinates 0784, 1942, -0614.

It is now time for players to leave the safety of the trees and use the paraglider to reach a clear path to the west. Fans should then follow that path westward until they reach a conspicuous stone platform at coordinates 0435, 2095, -0588. There is a mound of sand resting on this platform, and players should stand on top of it and use TotK's Ascend ability to send Link out of the Depths and into the middle of the Great Hyrule Forest.

Upon entering the Korok Forest, players are advised to do a bit of exploration. Indeed, there is an opportunity to cleanse the area quite near to the point of entry, though fans that want to pursue it will need to put their combat proficiency to the test. Additionally, there is a very special main quest to be initiated in this part of the Great Hyrule Forest, further incentivizing Tears of the Kingdom players to spend some time there.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
