The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features several different biomes from lush forests, snowy mountaintops, dry deserts, and even the giant volcano that is Death Mountain returns. It is also no surprise that some of the armor sets return from previous game Breath of the Wild to tackle these same areas again.

The Flamebreaker armor set is back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and can provide the player with much-needed relief from some areas of the game that are hot enough to cause Link damage from standing around too long. This guide will show players where to find and get the full armor set.

The Flamebreaker armor is located in Goron City, which is northeast of Hyrule Castle and west of Death Mountain. Players can reach there by first unlocking the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, then traveling on the path north past the Bedrock Bistro.

The city can be seen from a distance as it is under a Mount Rushmore-like stone landmark of Goron heads. The city also contains the Marakuguc Shrine that should be claimed first to make it easier to fast travel back to the town.

How To Get The Flamebreaker Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The armor set is broken up into three pieces: the Flamebreaker Helm, the Flamebreaker Armor, and the Flamebreaker Boots. The entire Flamebreaker set can be purchased from the Armor Shop located on the south-side of Goron City, and specifically marked on the map once zoomed in completely.

  • The Flamebreaker Helm costs 1,400 Rupees.
  • The Flamebreaker Armor costs 700 Rupees.
  • The Flamebreaker Boots costs 1,200 Rupees.

The entire set can be very expensive for players just starting out, though there are a few ways to earn Rupees early on to afford at least the armor piece. Each of the pieces in the set has an armor stat of three and have the Flame Guard ability, which protects Link from areas with high temperature and extreme heat.

Only one piece is necessary to get through most of the heated areas of the game, but wearing the entire set gives the Fireproof set bonus. This effect allows Link to be completely immune to fire, and can not catch fire from any source. Players that get accidentally burned from starting a fire will be able to appreciate this armor set.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
