Having just released, some The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fans are already creating fan art, with the latest one offering a Nintendo twist on former US President Barack Obama. While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers a lot of creative opportunities through its fusing and building mechanics, some fans continue to express themselves through creative fan art like this.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released on May 12, and fans are already sharing unique weapon fusions, unforgettable builds, and some unavoidable hilarious moments. Though much of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's world of Hyrule was established with Breath of the Wild, the addition of tons of floating islands and a network of underground tunnels has exponentially expanded the space that players have to explore. With many Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fans adventuring through this imposing landscape, others are mimicking the game's art style to create incredible art, including this Barack Obama tribute.

Reddit user Highbeams_off recently showed off their unique Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fan art that imagines Barack Obama as one of the former leaders of Hyrule. Given that Barack Obama is a prior world leader, his position as an expired President of Hyrule is fittingly expressed at the bottom of the Highbeams_off fan art, with the politician featured in the middle. Using the cel-shaded style of Tears of the Kingdom and its prequel, Highbeams_off has based their fan art on one of the iconic poses that Barack Obama made during his time as president, but with a sword in his hand rather than the medal that he's usually shown with in meme form.

According to Highbeams_off, their Barack Obama Tears of the Kingdom fan art was created with the help of AI tools like Dalle-2 and Midjourney which produced several images that were whittled down to one. After selecting the proper expression and pose for their The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom art, the image was then adjusted by Highbeams_off who repainted some spots and used Photoshop and filter edits for other problematic parts. Although this isn't the first gaming fan art to commemorate former US President Barack Obama, the fusing with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and its art style fittingly made it one of the most timely.

Highbeams_off has specified that they didn't receive permission from Nintendo or Barack Obama in the creation of their The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fan art which may result in it being taken down in the future given the former's reputation. Because of how many former US Presidents and other political figures have been commemorated through gaming fan art, this Barack Obama piece may be among the first of several Tears of the Kingdom mashups to come out.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
