One The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has revealed a devastating attack drone that he had managed to create. This newly shared creation further underlines the incredible level of freedom that Tears of the Kingdom provides to its players.While Breath of the Wild already delivered a largely unprecedented open world filled with emergent gameplay opportunities, Tears of the Kingdom manages to up the ante in nearly every respect. That's largely thanks to the combination of Fuse and Ultrahand, two new abilities that allow players to build a wide variety of contraptions in order to overcome the game's many challenges.And while the game primarily encourages constructing wieldable weapons and creations that help with traversal, those aren't the only things that can be put together in Tears of the Kingdom. This was most recently demonstrated by GameSpot's Max Blumenthal, who spent the last few days refining a design for a deadly attack drone with quite devastating results. The latest version of his contraption seems to have the potential to clear an entire skull cave's worth of late-game enemies, as evidenced by a brief clip showing the drone in action that Blumenthal shared on Twitter.
The author of this deadly device said that a detailed guide for how to create one such drone is currently in the works. In the meantime, the video demonstration of the contraption already offers some hints as to how he went about creating this devastating war machine. The launch mechanism seems to be the easiest piece of the puzzle, as it consists of two Zonai Rockets that can be purchased from an easily discoverable dispenser. Fusing those with a couple of stones is enough to get a levitating platform in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
As for the auto-firing turrets, it would appear that Blumenthal constructed them from a combination of Steering Sticks, Construct Heads, and Bubbul Gems. Since these guns can't one-shot tougher enemies, it's important to have a lot of Zonai Energy Cells that can keep the drone airborne long enough for it to clean up larger late-game mobs. Fortunately, upgrading Energy Cells in Tears of the Kingdom isn't particularly difficult, although it's definitely time-consuming.
This devastating attack drone is far from the only war machine that the Zelda fandom managed to build to date. Earlier this week, one player shared a design for an equally impressive Tears of the Kingdom combat mech which seems to utilize a similar firing mechanism to that of Blumenthal's aircraft.
