A new teaser has just been released for Tunic, the Legend of Zelda-like being worked on by indie developer Andrew Shouldice and published by Finji. Although the teaser is very brief, the excitement for the game is high, and the game appears to be coming along nicely.

Tunic debuted at E3 2018 and it instantly caught the imagination of many, as Tunic gives vibes of classic Legend of Zelda games while still having its own unique feel. The visual style alone is bursting with charm, and the playable protagonist being a fox knight is something that is rather difficult to ignore.

The newest teaser that was released from the official Tunic game Twitter page is simply a gif of the fox walking into what appears to be a gigantic temple. The doors open up with impressive animation, as the tone of this very short clip helps set the stage for the scale of the game. The last small teaser like this was posted back in December, and that was of the fox jumping into some snow, which was certainly cute. This clip, however, seems to show off more true gameplay and imagery of a location that players can eventually look forward to visiting when the game comes out; likely later this year.

The comparisons between Tunic and Zelda can be a bit of a double-edged sword. On one hand, there are plenty of fans that will want to play any game that is similar to Zelda, and being compared to one of the best franchises in the history of gaming is certainly a compliment. On the other hand, however, it is important to stand out. This small teaser actually helps set Tunic apart, as it looks less like Zelda and more like its own unique experience.

Tunic is in development for PC, Mac, and Xbox One and is expected to release in 2021.
