The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is considered by many to be one of the most inventive and ambitious open-world games ever made. With a large number of combat encounters, memorable locations and terrain, and with a large variety of different traversal methods, Breath of the Wild has a lot to offer its players. Now, one player has managed to figure out an entirely new method of traversal.

One of the most effective modes of transportation within Breath of the Wild is the paraglider. Modeled after the Sailcloth, first introduced in Skyward Sword, the paraglider allows the player to traverse all over the world of Breath of the Wild through the air. Although, apparently, players can also traverse through the air without the use of the paraglider.

A Reddit user by the name of PrestigiousBat3220 found a glitch that allows the player to fly through the air without using a paraglider. By using one of the chickens from Kakariko Village, the player jumps off the cliff, immediately draws their bow, which causes the player to drop the chicken and fly through the air without ever pulling out the paraglider.

It's amazing to see how much players can accomplish as a result of the established gameplay mechanics. As is the case with just about any game, if the player pushes against the game's constraints hard enough, the game can respond in unexpected ways, such is the case with this flightless paraglider glitch. For instance, one player managed to attain the Master Sword very early via a glitch.

One of the many qualities of Breath of the Wild that draw players in is how multifaceted the gameplay mechanics are. There are numerous combat encounters and gameplay scenarios scattered all throughout the world of Breath of the Wild that players can approach however they choose. Especially in terms of traversal, there's a lot that players can accomplish, such as one player reaching the highest point in Breath of the Wild's map in a minecart.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds in terms of Breath of the Wild. While a small teaser clip for Breath of the Wild 2 was shown off during E3 2021, there hasn't been much else in terms of official news. On top of that, there has been an official release window for the game slated for 2022, but there's been next to nothing by way of specificity. With any luck, Nintendo will reveal more information in the coming months.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
