However, other players want to just speed through the game and defeat the evil Ganon as fast as possible, whether they're just here for the main story or if they want to replay the game quickly for fun. There are a few key things players must do to ensure their success when fighting Ganon. Here are the best ways to do that in the shortest amount of time.

11 Find A Good Sheild

Blocking attacks is just as important as dealing them, which is why finding a tough shield is of major importance when trying to fight Ganon ASAP. There are many tall and strong shields ready to be found across the game, though some of the best ones Link can equip are the Ancient Shield, Daybreaker Shield, Royal Guard Shield, Savage Lynel Shield, and, most popular of all, the Hylian Shield.

Though the Hylian Shield is optional to complete the game, having that iconic original shield in the final Ganon battle is super helpful and would bring back some ultimate nostalgia.

10 Change Your Settings

9 There are multiple settings that you can change in the game that will make it run much quicker than usual. Speedrunners of the game will actually change their Nintendo's language setting to German because it is the fastest language to run the game in. Players can also set up gyroscope aiming and quicken up their camera speed to cut down playing time. These small changes can definitely shorten the time dealing with slow moments in the game.

8 Stock Up On Arrows

Bomb, ice, ancient, lightning, and fire arrows always pack a great punch against enemies, dealing a good amount of damage and leaving long term effects on the target. Long-range weapons are crucial when fighting the Ganon minibosses or Ganon himself since they move around the battle arena a lot and can deal pretty heavy up close damage.

A mix of long and short-range damage makes for the best battle against Ganon, so Link should be prepared to deal both.

7 Wear High-Defense Armor

The best armor in the game for defense is the Ancient Armor set, which Link can receive at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Though achieving this set of armor does take a bit of time, saving up rupees and guardian parts from Link's travels across the map will lead the player to eventually having enough to get the armor right before the big Ganon fight. However, there are many other armor sets that would also protect Link against heavy damage, like the Barbarian set, that could be worn during the final battle.

6 Use Shield Surfing

Link can actually slide on his shield to quickly travel on downward sloping hills to cut down time spent traveling. Using this technique is very common for speedrunners who need to travel across the map as quickly as they can.

Learning how to shield surf is easy and fun, making it a great technique for those wanting to complete the game in no time. The height and steepness of the hill will determine how fast and how far Link can travel down it. Try it out!

5 Visit The Great Faries

Once Link finds some armor, he can actually level these sets up to become even more effective by visiting one of the four Great Fairies across the map. Great Fairies Cotera, Mija, Kaysa, and Tera will grant Link with stronger and more powerful armor if he can provide the right materials. This way, players can spend less time looking for the game's best armor since their current armor will be leveled up so high.

When visiting them, Link can also stock up on health fairies, as they can be found floating around the areas where the Great Fairies are located. The upgraded armor, whether upgraded just once or multiple times, can be a big help when engaging in battle.

4 Equip Strong Weapons

There are many powerful weapons that Link can find and use in Breath of the Wild, though most become damaged or break much sooner than players would like. There are stronger and tougher weapons that can be found as Link progresses through the game which can work wonders in the final Ganon battle.

Link can get some great ones during each of the Divine Beast missions or when looting through Hyrule Castle and other areas on the map. While some players will claim that the Master Sword is always the best tool when it comes to completing the game, other weapons can do the trick, as well, and those looking to beat the game ASAP won't have time for all that extra exploration, anyway.

3 Stock Up On Powerful Recipes

Breath of the Wild Cooking

There are seemingly endless recipes that Link can discover by combining all of the various ingredients he collects during his travels. Some recipes are much more beneficial than others, such as ones that fill up entire health and stamina bars while adding extra health and stamina on top of that.

Depending on the number of ingredients used in a recipe, the beneficial results will change. Finding the best health and stamina recipes to boost Link's stats during hard battles is important when quickly powering through the game.

2 Learn To FReflect Guardian Lasers

Reflecting the insanely powerful beams that ancient guardians shoot off is super helpful when playing Breath of the Wild, for those lasers do some really heavy damage to Link. This trick is a bit tough to master, but it becomes a very handy and easy way to kill guardians as Link moves closer to the Hyrule Castle.

When the guardian starts charging up its beam, a blue ring of light will surround the machine. This is when Link should raise his shield to deflect the laser and parry it back so that the guardian takes all the damage.

1 Try Whistle Sprinting

This is a little exploit that players have found to be effective when traveling on foot. By repeatedly triggering the whistle action and sprinting at the same time, Link will never run out of stamina when he's running quickly. Normally, sprinting will drain his stamina and cause him to run out of breath, but using this tactic actually lets Link regain his stamina while continuing to run at a fast pace.

Whistle sprinting is just a little slower than full sprinting, so swapping from regular sprints to whistle ones will guarantee the quickest tactic for moving around on foot.
