Players of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have recently received the first round of the game’s DLC in the form of The Master Trials, but the community took no time in beating the DLC pack. As such, discussions have already turned to the next expansion for the latest Zelda title, and as it turns out this content will offer up a blast from the past in the form of a very familiar shirt from The Wind Waker.
The next round of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is known as The Champions’ Ballad, will allow players to once more don the fan favorite lobster shirt from The Wind Waker. The shirt in question, which first appears at the beginning of the GameCube classic, will no doubt go over well with fans of the series in general, and Link will surely earn some indie cred with gamers for such a retro fashion choice.
Exactly what this shirt will do in-game has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo, however. Given that Midna’s helmet was added to The Master Trials DLC and gave certain stat boosts for the player, users should expect something similar from the Wind Waker lobster shirt.

The Champions’ Ballad DLC is going to focus more on the narrative side of Breath of the Wild than The Master Trials, promising to further delve into the story of Zelda herself. However, some fans were left disappointed when it was confirmed by Nintendo that Zelda is not playable in The Champions’ Ballad DLC, with many fans seeing it as the perfect place to allow gamers to step into her shoes.
Nonetheless, players will no doubt be eager to jump back into Breath of the Wild with the DLC pack when it releases. For now, it’s going to be the last piece of content for the game, although whether Nintendo has any more secret plans up its collective sleeves is something that fans will have to watch out for.
There is still a long wait on for The Champions’ Ballad to release, however, as the DLC pack is not set to launch until the holiday season of this year. In the meantime, it seems as though there are still plenty of secrets to discover in Breath of the Wild and its DLC.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is out now for Switch and Wii U, with The Champions’ Ballad due to release in Holiday 2017.
