The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a massive game with more content than any other in the series. That extends to Breath of the Wild's weapons, which are far more numerous and varied than in a typical installment.

There are enough choices that some players might need a little help deciding which weapons are worth wielding. Fortunately, a Reddit user created a tier list of every weapon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Unlike other Zelda games, Breath of the Wild features a weapon durability mechanic. Redditor LinkSond accounted for this in the list, rating weapons based on “total damage.” This number is the weapon’s damage multiplied by its durability. This way, the list reflects both the damage per hit and the number of hits before the weapon breaks. Notably, the list does not account for elemental effects and other unique properties. It also assumes the player completes the Trial of the Sword, unlocking the Master Sword’s full potential.

F tier includes weapons with total damage of 100 or less. C and B tiers go up to 500 and 1,000, respectively, while A and S top out at 1,500 and 2,500. LinkSond reserved the SS tier for weapons with total damage greater than 2,500 and less than 10,000. Finally, there is an X tier for weapons with total damage of 10,000 or more.

With so many weapons to go through, Zelda fans should check out the full tier list for specific rankings. Some are relatively obvious, of course. For example, there’s no prize for guessing that the post-Trial Master Sword earns its way into the X tier. After all, the Master Sword the last weapon Nintendo intended players to unlock. The Master Trials DLC makes it even more powerful.

The One-Hit Obliterator also naturally claimed a spot in the top tier. However, it doesn’t really count, since it’s a temporary weapon the player can’t use outside its DLC. After all, Nintendo can’t have players one-shotting the final boss. Other highly rated weapons are the Amiibo exclusive Biggoron’s Sword and Sword of the Seven Sages. The Savage Lynel Crusher, Boulder Breaker, and Ancient Bladesaw also secured their places in the SS tier.

Again, the tier list only looks at damage and durability. It doesn’t account for damage-per-second, elemental damage, or armor bonuses. That does seem a little unfair since LinkSond rated the Master Sword under ideal conditions. Then again, its variable damage would have made it challenging to place otherwise.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
