Ahead of tonight's Nintendo Switch event, box art leaked from the GAME retail store suggests that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is launching in March 2017 after all.

As the release of the Nintendo Switch gets closer, one of the big questions is whether or not the console will launch with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at its side. Nintendo has two big events scheduled tonight and tomorrow that will reveal a lot more intel about the hardware and software coming this winter and spring, but the latest retailer leak suggests that rumors of Zelda's delay may have been greatly exaggerated.

Breath of the Wild was the E3 2016 game of show for many outlets over the summer and at the time, it seemed clear that the game would be Nintendo's flagship title going into 2017. Once all of the E3 hype settled down, a few rumors began to circulate that the title would be delayed until summer 2017 due to localization issues. Despite the speculation about delays, Nintendo hasn't downplayed Breath of the Wild and even took it to Late Night to give Jimmy Fallon a special hands-on preview.

This week, promotional materials have leaked from retailer GAME that indicate Breath of the Wild will still launch in March near the Switch's release. Here's a look at the image that was leaked to NeoGAF...

It wouldn't be surprising if retailers already have promo materials in stores and ready to go ahead of tonight's Nintendo Switch event, so that adds a bit of credibility to this anonymous leak. That said, the 'OUT March 2017' tag could've been printed at GAME without any intel from Nintendo, so at this point there's no way to confirm the rumor.

Hopefully tonight's event and tomorrow's follow up will answer all of our questions about Breath of the Wild and the rest of the mysterious Nintendo Switch launch lineup. The initial trailer hinted at some games that might be available on the console, but Nintendo has been waiting until 2017 to make any promises. Now that the console's launch is likely just two months away, gamers can expect to learn more about the hardware and launch software on almost a daily basis.

Do you expect Breath of the Wild to launch as early as March? If so, which console will you play it on? Let us know in the comments.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is currently scheduled for launch in 2017 for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
