A creative player in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild discovered an exciting new way to take down Water Octoroks instead of simply shooting them with the bow and arrow or parrying their rocks back at them. Octoroks in Breath of the Wild are notorious for their long range and deadly aim, so this player came up with a way to use their rocks against them in a very satisfying manner.

Octoroks are one of the Legend of Zelda franchise's iconic enemies, appearing in many different titles in various different forms. They sometimes have different fire, water, and other elemental variants and will also take on different traits and characteristics across the games. However, in Breath of the Wild, their most annoying trait is their incredible range and aim with their rock attacks.

Redditor GenovaStop uses this rock attack to their advantage as they come up with a new way to use the Stasis Rune to defeat a Water Octorok. Instead of using Breath of the Wild's parry ability to send the rock back at the Octorok, GenovaStop takes it to a whole new level by quickly pulling out the Stasis Rune and freezing the rock just above their head in midair. Then, they proceed to hit the frozen rock with a spear, building up momentum in the opposite direction until the Stasis wears off and the rock goes flying back at the Octorok, killing it instantly.

Gamers are discovering amazing and creative ways to play the game, like one Breath of the Wild player who found a great way to block Guardian lasers. In the game's fifth year of life, there are still so many secret mechanics and interesting manipulations of its physics engine and enemy AI that are being found and recorded.

It is true that Breath of the Wild has glitches and bugs are sometimes hilarious, but seldom game-breaking. Gamers love finding these glitches as well as they create a sense of community because people come together on online forums to showcase them and talk about them. The gaming community also comes together when players like GenovaStop discover new ways to play the games that everyone love so dearly, creating opportunities for discussion and, of course, memes.

With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arriving next year, Breath of the Wild players are brushing up on their parrying skills and practicing taking down Lynels and Hinoxes in order to help Link take on the new set of challenges that will come in the highly anticipated sequel.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now on Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
