Despite launching over five years ago, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still a very widely-played video game. The Switch title's expansive setting, jam-packed with things to do and discover, along with its robust physics engine, keeps players coming back to the land of Hyrule. However, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild certainly stuck the landing in taking the iconic Nintendo franchise into open-world territory, the title isn't without its technical hiccups, as one player facing a Lizalfos found out.

With their first major appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Lizalfos are agile enemies that usually attack by leaping towards Link with a weapon, and then quickly jumping back. Considered one of The Legend of Zelda series' most frustrating enemies, Lizalfos' Breath of the Wild incarnations are particularly infuriating, able to camouflage into surroundings and often imbued with fire, ice, or electrical powers.

The Breath of the Wild glitch in question seems to have given a Lizalfos some extra jumping powers. In a clip posted to the Breath of the Wild subreddit by _Tovar_, the player appears to be somewhere in the Eldin region facing off with a Fire-Breath Lizalfos and an Igneo Pebblit. After striking away the Lizalfos, the player turns toward the enemies' location. The Lizalfos begins quickly approaching Link, before suddenly jumping backwards to its initial position. Link then holds his position, causing the Lizalfos to keep getting close, only to then jump back again, over and over.

The clip of the infinite loop glitch is clearly intriguing other Breath of the Wild players, garnering hundreds of views and likes within a day of posting. Fans have commented their theories as to what could be causing the loop, with the most prevalent being the rock formation in front of Link as the culprit. Oddly enough, the Igneo Pebblit, the tiny version of one of Breath of the Wild's most difficult enemies, seems unphased by the terrain, barreling towards Link before the clip ends.

While the Lizalfos infinite loop is certainly interesting, it's far from the only The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild glitch that's been discovered. Odd NPC behavior is likely the most common Breath of the Wild glitch, but one player has discovered something much more significant. They discovered a glitch allowing access to outside of Breath of the Wild's map, making an otherwise inaccessible plateau accessible near Tabantha Tower. Both glitches were only discovered this year, making prime examples of the incredible amount of secret discoveries players have made over the past half-decade.

While fans await more news on it, Breath of the Wild 2 can really double down on the first game's enemy design, with the sequel poised to really step it up in terms of enemy variety and dynamics. With the skies opening up, and possible untold changes to Hyrule, it should be interesting to see what enemies await players in the long-anticipated sequel, and what new glitches are ultimately found, as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available on Switch and Wii U.
