A brand new trailer for the second set of downloadable content for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Champions' Ballad, premiered at The Game Awards 2017. The trailer contains a collage of the many new features players can expect to see in the expansion, as well as the surprising revelation that it is available tonight.

The Champions' Ballad will add a new dungeon to Breath of the Wild, expand on the story, and bring loads of new challenges. For the fashion conscious, the expansion will also include plenty of new costumes for Link, some of which are showcased in the trailer.

As the art and name of the DLC imply, players will get to learn more about the fallen champions, Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa; who had important, but mostly minor, roles in the main campaign. Though the expansion will focus heavily on these characters, the game will still keep Link at the helm. This was confirmed early on by Nintendo after fans speculated Zelda may be playable, due to her strong presence in the expansion's first trailer.

Arguably, the more interesting portion of the trailer is the tail end, where the screen goes black and only the roars of an engine can be heard. Moments later, Link is seen blazing across the plains of Hyrule on the back of a motorcycle, which looks to be made of Guardian parts. It's quite a sight, and it's fair to say that everyone watching was surprised but intrigued. According to the Nintendo of America Twitter, The Champions' Ballad will include the Beast Tamer's trials, along with a new power for Link known as "the Master Cycle Zero." This power could be how Link summons his new set of wheels.

While The Champions' Ballad has been anticipated for months, after it was announced at this year's E3, its release date has remained at a vague 2017 release date. It was speculated that it would release alongside the expansion's upcoming champion Amiibo figures on December 10, but it appears that it will be arriving a few days earlier. The expansion will release tonight at around 11:30pm PT/2:30am ET.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. The Champions’ Ballad DLC releases tonight, December 7, 2017.
