Unless you've been living under a rock, you're probably aware that Bowsette has taken the internet by storm in the last few weeks. The fan-driven phenomenon began with the question of would happen if the Super Crown item was placed on Bowser's head, but has now evolved into a full blown meme. Bowsette has now grown beyond fanart and into a playable character in Breath of the Wild, thanks to a new mod.

Footage of the new Breath of the Wild mod was shared by Lynard Killer on YouTube and actually reveals a very impressive design and implementation. The Bowsette model looks right at home in Hyrule and the flowing dress animations react to the environment just as well as any of Link's outfits and armor.

Here's a video of the very well-executed mod in action...

Obviously this isn't a Nintendo-endorsed mod, but hopefully it sticks around long enough for players to get a chance to give it a try. So far, Lynard Killer has not shared a download link for the content, so it may still be a work in progress. Once it seems to be available for public down, we'll be sure to share a source link.

As the fan community continues to joke around about Bowsette, it will be very interesting to see if Nintendo works the character into any upcoming games. A Smash Bros. skin seems like a no-brainer to us!

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
