Nintendo shocked the world at E3 2019 when it announced The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, a direct follow-up to the critically-acclaimed open world Zelda that launched with the Switch. Details on Breath of the Wild 2 have been hard to come by since its initial reveal, but a new leak may reveal the game's real title, along with some interesting gameplay details.

This leak comes from 4chan, so fans should take it with a heavy grain of salt. However, there have been legitimate Nintendo game leaks from 4chan in the past, so it can't be completely ignored. The since-deleted post claimed that Breath of the Wild 2's real title is actually The Legend of Zelda: Bond of the Triforce, which will be revealed in a trailer "relatively soon." The game's gimmick will be the ability to switch between Link and Zelda in dungeons, with Link the only one playable in the open world sections. However, Zelda will supposedly be able to "harness the power of nature" to assist Link in the open world, like having the ability to change the weather.

The leaker went on to say that animals will also have a bigger role in Bond of the Triforce, with players able to ride a bear. The game will introduce new enemies, have a magic gauge (possibly for Zelda's abilities), and new items. According to the leak, the new items will be the slingshot and a "plow looking weapon" that Link can use to attack large groups of enemies.

Again, there is zero evidence to back up these claims, and so fans should treat this information with a healthy amount of skepticism. Even so, the claims made here don't sound too outlandish, especially since the Breath of the Wild 2 reveal trailer showed Zelda and Link exploring a dungeon together. It's possible that the "leaker" is just making things up based on that trailer, or it's possible that they have legitimate insider information, but until Nintendo reveals more, all fans can do is speculate.

The leaker said that a new trailer is coming "relatively soon," which could indicate that The Legend of Zelda: Bond of the Triforce will be properly revealed in an upcoming Nintendo Direct. A new Nintendo Direct is rumored for this month, so it's possible we will learn whether there was any truth to this supposed leak sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, if Breath of the Wild 2 isn't shown between now and this summer, fans should be able to count on more information coming at E3 2020.
