Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is the updated version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, exclusively for the PlayStation 5, with added content such as the new chapter called INTERmission. The player controls one of two originally optional party members from Final Fantasy 7, Yuffie Kisaragi. In the original Final Fantasy 7, Yuffie played a minor role and was sometimes a nuisance to the main party as a sort-of comic relief. She could be recruited any time after a certain point in the story, but her inclusion in the remake presumably means a divergence from the source material when recruiting her to the main party.

The re-release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the PS5 also includes higher quality textures and lighting with the option of two different display modes with each display mode emphasizing either performance or graphics. Alongside this visual inclusion is the new "Photo Mode" that players can access from the pause screen. Much like other games with a photo mode, this allows players to capture special moments in gameplay scenes. On top of all this, the re-release includes new difficulties in its "Classic Mode" as well as new bosses and a reintroduction of the Fort Condor mini-game.

Final Fantasy 7's Yuffie Kisaragi

Yuffie is a ninja from the small village of Wutai. In the original Final Fantasy 7, the player can travel to Wutai, but unless they've recruited Yuffie, they won't be able to complete the side quest there. Yuffie is ashamed that her hometown has turned into a tourist resort, and vows to bring it back to its former glory before the Wutai War. Her goal is to steal Materia wherever she can so that she can make Wutai strong again. Throughout the entirety of the original Final Fantasy 7, Yuffie is the youngest party member at 16 years old. Despite being so young, however, she is still capable of carrying her own weight and then some, managing to wield a giant Shuriken with ease.

Despite playing a small role in the original Final Fantasy 7, Yuffie ended up being a prominent character throughout the entire Compilation of Final Fantasy 7 universe. In Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, Yuffie arrives to help her former party defeat the gargantuan Bahamut SIN. When the disease introduced in Advent Children called Geostigma spreads to Wutai, she ends up searching for a cure. In Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7 she plays an important role in shutting down Mako Reactor Zero in the ruins of Midgar alongside Vincent Valentine.

Yuffie In Final Fantasy 7 Remake Episode INTERmission

final fantasy 7 remake yuffie materia

If fans own the PlayStation 5 version Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade or have upgraded their PS4 version to the PS5 and purchased the DLC Episode INTERmission, then they will have the opportunity to play as Yuffie. In INTERmission Yuffie infiltrates Shinra's underground and faces against Deepground, a secret organization that originally appeared in Dirge of Cerberus. What role the Deepground will play in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 remains to be seen, but their encounter in the remake is much sooner than the original timeline. Another notable reference to Dirge of Cerberus is the Moogle Cape Yuffie would occasionally wear.

In the original Final Fantasy 7, Yuffie's birthday is November 20, and she is 16 years old. However, it is unclear if this remains the same for the remake. Though according to the 10th Anniversary Ultimania for Final Fantasy 7, the timeline of events in the original game does not go on longer than a couple of months. The original Final Fantasy 7 story starts canonically in early December and ends in late January of the following year. So despite Yuffie being 16 in the original, one can presume that Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Remake INTERmission, like many of the original cast, is 16 just as before.
