Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is giving out free gems and an exclusive cosmetic to all players to celebrate passing 50 million downloads. The online simulator of Konami's massively popular TCG launched earlier this year to roaring success across multiple platforms, quickly amassing huge player counts and breaking records on Steam. Within just two weeks of the game's launch, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel had already passed 4 million downloads between its multiple versions. Now, Konami is giving players a set of free rewards to celebrate the game passing a major download milestone.

Since Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel was released in January, the game has seen consistent updates adding plenty of new content. Konami has frequently added new ways for players to experience the game between new Solo Mode stories and rotating events featuring different deck-building restrictions. Updates to the game have also introduced a plethora of new cards from the physical card game, as well as changes to Master Duel's banlist focused on addressing the strongest decks. Now, Master Duel is celebrating another milestone with gems and a new sleeve design.

The official Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Twitter account revealed on Tuesday that the popular digital card game had surpassed 50 million downloads. Celebrating the milestone, Konami is giving out 1000 gems, enough to open 10 of the game's booster packs, to all players along with a new card protector design featuring "Five-Headed Dragon." Master Duel has frequently rewarded gems to players in celebration of various milestones the game has passed, as well as offering perks for players with PS Plus to get free packs in Master Duel.

The newest milestone for Master Duel comes as the game has seen renewed efforts from Konami to push its competitive angle. Konami's European branch recently announced the upcoming "Challenger Cup" as a series of open, online Master Duel tournaments to be held in Europe starting next month. The game has also featured the competitive "Duelist Cup" event featuring a leaderboard, with the event also rumored to be making a return next month. Konami had previously billed Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel as a competitive online platform for the popular card game.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel's successful launch has been just one part of a busy year for the Konami card game. Konami's pre-existing mobile app, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, recently introduced a new world based on Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS alongside the introduction of Link Monsters to the game. Konami also launched Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel this year as a new mobile game offering a different spin on the card game's traditional gameplay. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel's success has been apparent as it celebrates the 50 million download milestone with just two months until its first anniversary.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
