In the latest free-to-play Yu-Gi-Oh game called Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, there are a couple of different ways for duelists to obtain brand-new cards to add to their decks. Thanks to a Dismantle and Generate mechanic, Master Duel players can essentially craft cards using CP (Craft Points). However, these mechanics aren't the easiest to understand for new Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel players, so this guide will go over how Dismantling and Generating cards work, as well as how to get Crafting Points.

How to Dismantle Cards

From the main menu screen of Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, players should head to the Deck menu. Here, players can check out all of their decks and choose one to edit. It's worth noting that some Yu-Gi-Oh cards cannot be dismantled, such as cards distributed as gifts, cards that come as part of Bundle Deals, or cards obtained from pre-built Structure Decks. Basically, only cards received from opening packs will be able to get dismantled. Once players are on the deck edit screen, they should press the left trigger to bring up the card menu for the highlighted card. If the player does not own the card, they will not be able to dismantle it.

By dismantling cards of higher rarities, Master Duel players will earn differing amounts of CP, which stands for Crafting Points. There are different tiers of CP, and, depending on the card, generating new cards will require a certain amount, which can be seen on the card menu.

And next to the Save button in the top-right corner of the screen, there will be an icon with three stacked horizontal lines. Pressing this button on the Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel deck edit screen will bring up a screen allowing players to Dismantle All Extra Cards or Dismantle Selected Cards. This is just a faster process to get more CP.

How to Craft (Generate) New Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel

Once players have the required number of Crafting Points, they can go ahead and hit the Generate button on the card menu to bring the card to life. Some cards won't be able to get generated, but a majority of them can. It's really up to players to mess around with the Dismantle and Generate mechanics to see what works and what doesn't. However, with these tools, it's easier than ever to create some of the most iconic decks from the long-running Yu-Gi-Oh franchise.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The mobile version is in development.
