Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel's newest "Duel Pass" features a variety of rewards for players to earn by playing the digital card game, including one of the anime's most iconic Monsters as a Mate. The digital version of the Konami TCG has featured multiple iterations of its Duel Pass, granting players rewards like gems, crafting points, and unique cosmetics for playing. Past Duel Passes have featured a variety of recognizable fan-favorite cards as Mates including Scapegoat and Marshmallon. Now one of the anime's most beloved Monsters is coming to the newest Duel Pass.

Featuring heavily throughout the franchise in different forms, Kuriboh has become one of the most recognizable Monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh. The small furry Monster first appeared in the original anime, helping to save Yugi from defeat on several occasions and turning the tides of duels. The Monster would later see multiple new iterations throughout the franchise's many different anime adaptations, including Jaden's Winged Kuriboh in Yu-Gi-Oh GX and the Link Monster Linkuriboh in Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS. Now, Kuriboh fans will be able to team up with the iconic monster as a new Mate in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel officially rolled out its newest Duel Pass Friday morning with several new cosmetics for players to earn by leveling up. The full Duel Pass features a home-screen art based on "Meteonis Drytron," an icon of "Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi," and the previously-mentioned Kuriboh Mate. Players looking to team up with Yugi's iconic partner will need to reach Level 75 after purchasing the premium Gold Duel Pass for 700 Gems. The newest Duel Pass will be available for the next two-and-a-half months.

Kuriboh's addition as a Mate to Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel comes as the beloved Monster has persisted within Yu-Gi-Oh's meta through its various re-trains. The previously-mentioned Linkuriboh is a popular option for Decks looking to utilize Level 1 Monsters, offering a handy battle protection effect. "Sphere Kuriboh" has been a popular card in Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links for similar reasons, allowing players to keep their Monsters safe by switching the battle position of opponents' Monsters. Several archetypes have also received their own Kuriboh variants, like Dark Magician and Performapal.

The new Duel Pass has been joined by several updates to Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel throughout recent weeks between new cards and events. Master Duel introduced two new Selection Packs earlier this month, both adding new cards and making cards from the game's Solo Mode more accessible. The ongoing Theme Chronicle event also puts a spotlight on the story mode for the digital TCG, based around playing the many decks featured in the single-player story. The new Kuriboh Mate will be a great pickup for fans of the classic Yu-Gi-Oh anime.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
