One of the things that's quite appealing when it comes to streaming is the friendly atmospheres. Many see the inherent camaraderie that goes on on sites such as Twitch as part of the entertainment. Huge stars, such as YouTube sensation Jacksepticeye, are known for their on-camera presence and their ability to collaborate with other people. However, the aforementioned Jack has been quite forward recently in the truth behind the relationships between streamers.

According to sources, Jacksepticeye, who's real name is Sean McLoughlin, has said that while they're all friends in real life, he admitted that things aren't always as they seem once the cameras are off. While certainly not suggesting that on-screen friendliness is disingenuous, the YouTube personality explained that streamers don't often talk to each other that much when not live. He said that it wasn't a bad thing but that it may have been a stark contrast to what fans think goes on behind the scenes.

Sean explained it further by saying that streamers and content creators simply don't spend a lot of their free time in group chats talking all the time, and that they are adults who have other things going on in their lives. The Irish YouTuber, who's known for doing collaborations with other stars such as PewDiePie and Markiplier, kept it positive by saying that not talking off stream means that it's much nicer when they do talk when live in which they get to "hang out and chat".

Jacksepticeye is one of the biggest YouTube personalities at the moment whose channel is currently sitting pretty with just under 27 million subscribers. Earlier this year, Jack spoke about how he was considering quitting YouTube all-together back in 2020 due to the stress brought on by the pandemic. This came not long after he took a bit of a break in the summer before then saying that he was going to cut down on uploads. Up until that point, he had been posting two videos a day for years, but said the task had become mentally draining for him.

He's also well known for taking part in charity streams which aim to raise money for good causes. Last December, Sean managed to raise over $1.4 million for his Thankmas campaign where he collaborated with fellow YouTuber PewDiePie and other streamers. The fact that he says streamers don't talk to each other that often when the cameras aren't on doesn't necessarily mean they aren't friends. However, with such a busy schedule and a lot of reputation to maintain for his millions of subscribers, it's understandable why some people may not have time for off-stream friendships.
