A YouTuber by the name of Kanghua Ren, also known as ReSet, is looking at the possibility of two years in prison after filming and posting a video of him giving a homeless man Oreos filled with toothpaste as a "prank."

According to The Independent's report, Kanghua Ren is facing charges for a crime against moral integrity. In this report, Prosecutors are saying Ren might have to pay a 30,000 Euro fine as a further penalty with the jail time. This amount comes out to about $37,000, which is a steep price to pay.

Prosecutors say that Ren filmed himself taking the filling out of Oreo cookies and refilling the cookies with white toothpaste, making it look exactly the same, and posted it on YouTube. Ren then offered this cookie and 20 Euros to a homeless man, stating that “[the Oreos] will help him clean his teeth” and that “[Ren] thinks he hasn’t cleaned them since he became poor.”

After taking the money and the imposter Oreo, the homeless man reportedly vomited. To add insult to injury, Ren offered the homeless man 300 Euros to stay silent about the whole thing in attempts to clean up his image. This might come as little surprise to those familiar with the YouTuber, as Kanghua Ren has offered children and elderly people sandwiches filled with cat excrement for his videos on YouTube in the past. None of these prank videos are still on his YouTube channel, however.

When taking a look at ReSet’s YouTube channel, the first thing anyone would see is the banner on his page, stating he is a Fortnite and League of Legends player. But, looking a little deeper shows that he’s mostly a vlogger who has over 1.2 million subscribers. His subscriber count doesn’t seem to have taken too much of a dip since the incident, according to his Subscriber Analytics online.

Prank videos or videos made for shock value are not uncommon on YouTube, as YouTubers like Logan and Jake Paul have made this type of content almost normal. It seems as if it is a good way to get views, but it seemingly does more harm than good more often than not. Hopefully, Kanghua “ReSet” Ren can make the best of the situation and do right by his actions.
