12 Aries: Seifer Almasy
Seifer Almasy has a reputation for being one of the most skilled fighters out there. Unfortunately, he tends to unpredictable, reckless, arrogant, and stubborn. Unlike Squall, Seifer can be very rebellious and outspoken, which often leads them to cross blades. However, while he served under Ultimecia, Seifer isn't evil - rather, he's troubled and lonely due to his tendency to distance himself.
Seifer embodies an Aries, which tend to be confident, determined, and courageous. Unfortunately, he also embodies some of the negative traits of a Taurus, such as being aggressive, impulsive, moody, and impatient.
11 Taurus: Quistis Trepe
Quistis Trepe serves as the youngest instructor for SeeD mercenaries. She's extremely gifted, albeit stoic and quiet. Due to her quiet personality, Quistis tends to distance herself from others. Thanks to her friendship with Squall and the team, she's revealed to be very easygoing, a great Triple Triad player, and can be mischievous.
Quistis embodies a Taurus for being responsible, practical, patient, and reliable. As an instructor, one can rely on Quistis to follow decorum. Fortunately, Quistis doesn't embody the usual negative traits of a Taurus, such as being uncompromising, possessive, and stubborn.
10 Gemini: Laguna Loire
Laguna Loire formerly served in the Galbadian military as a soldier. Laguna, alongside his friends Ward and Kiros, participates in various missions. Unfortunately, their last mission split the trio, and Laguna had some adventures of his own before reuniting with them. Laguna used to hunt monsters, participated in a movie, and eventually becomes a president. Throughout these adventures, Laguna kept his kindhearted, generous, and cheerful demeanor. Unfortunately, he also tends to be extremely impulsive.
Laguna embodies the traits of a Gemini, as he's also curious, affectionate, gentle, and very adaptable. Unfortunately, he also embodies their weaknesses, such as nervousness. Laguna often becomes indecisive when asked about his choices, but he never backs down from helping others.
9 Cancer: Zell Dincht
Zell Dincht is known by his classmates to be extraordinarily energetic and loud. A perfect complement to Selphie, Zell is amiable. However, he never backs down from challenges and tends to be overconfident with his abilities as a martial artist. Unfortunately, his rather brash nature always gets him in trouble with the school's faculty.
Zell displays trademark characteristics of Cancer, who tend to be loyal, sympathetic, and very tenacious. Thankfully, Zell doesn't share common negative traits of Cancers, who tend to be insecure, suspicious, pessimistic, and moody.
8 Leo: Selphie Tilmitt
Selphie Tilmitt might be a fighter, but she's also very active with SeeD's extracurricular activities. She runs a school website, plans many after-school activities, and generally displays an energetic, outspoken, and vibrant personality. Unfortunately, despite her happy nature, Selphie hides a fear of being unhappy. She hides this fear for being extremely friendly with others.
Selphie displays the characteristics of Leos. They love displaying humor, kind-heartedness, and generosity. Thankfully, Selphie manages to ward off a lot of a Leo's weaknesses, such as being self-centered, stubborn, and arrogant.
7 Virgo: Cid Kramer
Cid Kramer is Final Fantasy 8's version of "Cid," a recurring motif in the series. In the game, Cid serves as the founder of SeeD to counteract the threats of Sorceresses who have gone mad with their power. Cid is a very hopeful man which, coupled with his cheerfulness, makes him a fun person to be around. He's nurturing and caring, wishing his students to think of what they want to do with their lives.
Cid embodies Virgos, who tend to be very practical and hardworking, but most of all kind and loyal. Unfortunately, like Cid, Virgos tend to focus too much on work, worry a lot about things, and be over-critical of themselves.
6 Libra: Rinoa Heartilly
Rinoa Heartilly serves as the main love interest of Squall Leonhart. Despite her well-off status, Rinoa shows genuine concern about the world at large. She's extremely friendly, warm, and compassionate, especially towards her friends. Rinoa also finds herself at odds with Quistis and Squall for being mechanical and cold. Despite her inexperience with battle, Rinoa compensates for this with her openness.
Like Rinoa, Libras display traits of being social, fair-minded, diplomatic, and cooperative. However, due to their ability to understand multiple perspectives, Libras tend to be indecisive as well. Libras can sometimes carry grudges and avoid confrontations.
5 Scorpio: Ultimecia
Ultimecia serves as the main antagonist of Final Fantasy 8. She wants to compress all of the space-time into herself, making her a "living goddess." As a powerful Sorceress, Ultimecia can force others to do her bidding and cast some of the most powerful magic in existence. However, while diplomatic and strategic, she's also manipulative and evil.
If Ultimecia had been more benevolent, she would embody the positive traits of Scorpios. Like Ultimecia, Scorpios are passionate and brave. They're also stubborn but resourceful, able to find ways to accomplish what they want. Unfortunately, like Ultimecia, Scorpios tend to be distrusting and secretive.
4 Sagittarius: Irvine Kinneas
People know Irvine Kinneas for two things: he's a sharpshooter, and he hates working under pressure. Irvine proclaims to be a ladies' man and uses his "loner" persona to try to appeal to them. Despite his suave personality, Irvine cares for his team and offers insight should they need it. He cares for his team deeply and will help them when he can.
Irvine embodies a Sagittarius with his sense of humor and generosity. However, Irvine also displays Sagittarius' characteristics of being impatient, saying without thinking, and sometimes promising more than what they deliver.
3 Capricorn: Squall Leonhart
Squall Leonhart has always been cold and introverted. However, he's one of the best mercenaries to have ever graduated SeeD. Despite his resentment towards leadership, his pragmatic nature and sense of responsibility make him a reliable team leader. Squall soon reveals that his coldness reflects his fear of getting close to people. Thankfully, his adventures with Rinoa and his friends helped him become more open to friendship and camaraderie.
Squall's personality fits that of a Capricorn. People love Capricorns for their discipline, responsibility, and self-control. These characteristics also make them excellent managers, which reflects Squall's eventual leadership of his team. However, Capricorn may also tend to expect the worst, be condescending, and unforgiving.
2 Aquarius: Ward Zabac
Ward Zabac, alongside his friends Laguna and Kiros, served in the Galbadian Army. Unfortunately, a mission that separated them also wounded Ward. As a result, Ward lost his voice to the injuries. Despite Ward's intimidating personality, he's extremely loyal and caring. Unfortunately, this nature also tends to involve him in Laguna's shenanigans.
Ward perfectly fits the Aquarius, which are humanitarian, independent, and progressive. Despite his quiet nature, Ward runs to Laguna's aid should he need it. Aquarius might be uncompromising or temperamental, but they're ready to help friends.
1 Pisces: Kiros Seagill
Kiros Seagill, alongside Ward and Laguna, appears in Squall's dream sequences. They served in the Galbadian army as soldiers until a mission separated them for a couple of months. After finding Laguna, Kiros aided him hunting monsters around Winhill.
Unlike the quiet Ward and the outspoken Laguna, Kiros serves as the trio's voice of reason. He fits the qualities of a Pisces, as while Kiros might sound "harsh" with his advice, it's his way of being compassionate towards friends.
