The Yakuza series is riding high at the moment, as the franchise continues to draw in more and more fans. With Yakuza: Like a Dragon taking the series into the world of RPGs, and the Yakuza Remastered Collection landing on PC and Xbox One via Xbox Game Pass, there is plenty of Yakuza to go around. That shift to PC has met with a few hiccups, as some players reported issues with Yakuza 3. Those who reported issues were asked to take part in a hotfix beta to get to the bottom of things.

As Yakuza has grown in popularity, it made sense for Sega to re-release some of the series' older titles that folks might have missed the first time around. The Yakuza Remastered Collection does this by bringing back Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 in one package. With Yakuza 6 also on the way for PC and Xbox One owners, fans will be able to experience the entire series for the first time if they have never owned a PlayStation. Porting a game that was a console exclusive sometimes come with its own set of challenges, and that seems to be the case with the Yakuza Remastered Collection on PC.

Recently, players have been experiencing unusual issues with Yakuza 3 in particular, and a hotfix has been administered to try and sort these problems out. Players noted missing sound effects in bars, absurdly loud audio in other places, issues with sorting items, infinite loading screens, and overall high CPU usage. In response, Team Sega put together a hotfix beta for players experiencing issues, asking players to try the changes out and report if there are still bugs that need sorting.

For fans experiencing the games in this collection for the first time, it would be frustrating if they didn't function properly. Thus, support from the developer to provide players with the best experience possible is appreciated. The issues found in Yakuza Remastered, while annoying, are not game breaking, unlike some of the issues being patched in Cyberpunk 2077.

With sales of Yakuza: Like a Dragon exceeding expectations, Sega seems to realize it has a steady performer with the franchise. Between the Yakuza Remastered Collection and Yakuza 6 on its way to PC and Xbox soon, the series has a bright future. That positive outlook should make it a priority for development fixes like this going forward.

Yakuza Remastered Collection is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
