Recently, Yakuza Remastered Collection arrived on Xbox Game Pass, allowing players to experience the life of a Japanese outlaw for themselves. Formerly a PlayStation exclusive, the Yakuza franchise has made itself famous for its unique balance of dramatic storytelling, wacky sense of humor, and challenging, yet extremely amusing mini-games, and Yakuza Remastered Collection delivers all of that.

Picking up where Yakuza Kiwami 2 leaves off, players will be tasked with ensuring the streets of Kamurocho and beyond are safe and order is kept in the criminal underworld, all while keeping Kiryu entertained in between, of course.

Tons of Yakuza Content on Game Pass

The two previous remastered entries in the series, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, were already on Xbox Game Pass, so players have had plenty of opportunity to learn of Kiryu’s origins and the beginning steps of his legacy. Even better, player can also play the prequel to the whole series, Yakuza 0, all on Game Pass, giving players more background than even those in 2005 playing the original had when they began their Yakuza journey.

The Yakuza: Remastered Collection picks up with 3,4, and 5, and gets the players ready, if they can manage to finish them all, for the upcoming remaster of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, the ultimate final chapter in Kiryu’s journey. This would complete a video game legacy worth hundreds of hours of entertaining content on the subscription based platform.

Just to put in context how much content can be squeezed out of these games, Yakuza 0, the most "content-lite" of the series, can take 150 hours to complete 100%. While this is an extreme example, it shows the amount of entertainment that Xbox has got for players by bringing whole series to Xbox Game Pass. This series will also expose gamers to Japanese culture in all its beauty and, at times, its harshness. While players dash across Tokyo fighting baddies left and right, they’ll eat new food, sing “Baka Mitai,” and experience Japanese culture in a whole new way.

This is a great get for Xbox because the level of content in these games will take months for players to complete, which translates into more subscription fees billed. As it likely continues to add the Yakuza series to Xbox Game Pass, players will continue to come back again and again to get their fix of their favorite modern Sega title.
