While Felix "xQc" Lengyel recently received a YouTube ban and his videos were subsequently demonetized, the troubles continue for the regular Twitch stats leader. On his primary hub that has garnered a following of over 10 million, xQc has been hit with a Twitch age restriction that adds a normally exempt disclaimer for younger viewers as his channel is considered adult content now.

On July 11, xQc confirmed on Twitter that his YouTube channel had been banned, and that situation has yet to be resolved, but a newer stream spotted by Dexerto may have resulted in the age restriction on his Twitch account. Formerly an Overwatch esports pro, xQc first took to Twitch streaming back in 2014, which was the year Justin TV became Twitch, and he continues to regularly livestream on the Amazon platform. The former Overwatch pro has moved more to the Just Chatting category of Twitch in recent years, but he's also known for playing games like GTA Online, Cuphead, Bloons TD, and Overwatch 2, which xQc accidentally leaked early.

During a July 12 Twitch stream, xQc was told by some viewers that his channel had been age-restricted and was prompting them for their birth date information. It's currently unclear what xQc did to cause the Twitch restrictions, but it's suggested that it was the result of some questionable music he produced using FL Studio. Using the gunshot sound effect rapidly alongside Halo Pad and Goblin, xQc stated during this stream that he was “making the beat of America," something that may have been reported by a Twitch community member.

Although some have suggested that his age restrictions are based on xQc's regular gambling streams including someone he was making music with during the aforementioned stream, the timing suggests that it's based on something recent as he has been gambling for a while. The alterations went through during the July 12 stream about 16 hours into the broadcast, which may help some fans narrow down why xQc was punished as he currently thinks he's "being beta tested on.” Though Twitch viewers can bypass the age restrictions by using alternate dates, it's not clear how this change will affect xQc's Twitch channel or the revenue generated through livestreams on the platform.

Normally xQc confirms important channel details with his audience through Twitter, but the popular Twitch streamer has fallen silent since the July 12 stream ended. Although many live comments responding to xQc's music during the July 12 Twitch stream were reflections of laughter, it's likely that an audience member, and possibly Twitch itself, took issue with the use of gunshots. One viewer assured xQc that his musical talent exceeded that of many TikTok users despite the tone and others tried to add lyrics to the randomly compiled noises.
