Twitch streamer xQc spent $1000 to have a character based on himself be introduced into the newly established AI show Nothing, Forever. The popular streaming platform is known for its unorthodox trends, but artificially produced television might be the weirdest thing yet to grace Twitch.

Nothing, Forever is the title of an AI-generated show that is currently streaming on a Twitch channel called watchmeforever. It is (very) loosely based on the famous 90s sitcom Seinfeld, with a few recognizable elements such as the iconic set of Jerry's apartment. The characters and environments themselves are pixilated, but viewers familiar with the original show will likely be able to tell whenever figures embodying Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine are on-screen. However, the only audible similarity is the laugh track that arbitrarily plays after a few lines of dialogue, as everyone talks with a robotic voice that is only marginally more convincing than most text-to-speech software.

Despite all of its drawbacks, nonsensical "jokes," and the frequent occurrence of characters freezing for minutes at a time, it has become a popular phenomenon across the 46 hours it has continuously played, even attracting the interest of Felix 'xQc' Lengyel, one of the platform's most popular content creators. The Twitch channel watchmeforever enjoys a rather impressive viewer count at the time of writing, having averaged approximately 15,000 over the past few hours. Glancing at the chat at any moment and one would see a legion of spectators enthralled by the show, and xQc appears to be among them.

xQc spent part of his February 1 stream watching a few "episodes" of the AI, even laughing along with it at times. Savvy financial decision-making went out of the window after he discovered the Patreon for Nothing, Forever, which currently includes two tiers; one priced at $4.99 to allegedly keep the show running, and the other at $999. xQc purchased the latter, but he is more than in a position to do so after receiving a $10,000 Twitch donation just a few days ago.

Even the Patreon owner writes "look, I'm not advocating for this tier," but if anyone goes for it, they would introduce a character based on the appearance of whoever offered up the cash. It would not happen immediately, but after enough time to program everything passed, xQc would be notified. And it may not be only xQc getting a spot on the AI production, as the tier is currently sold out, although it has not been made public how many people purchased it. With the rise of ChatGPT, the conversation surrounding the place and purpose of AI has never been so intense, but its random algorithms seem to make a show about nothing rather well.
