Xenoblade Chronicles 3 players that take time exploring each region may be rewarded for their curiosity. While progressing through the main campaign, they might stumble upon a Container that's out of reach or a hidden passage. These can usually be reached via Party Skills, which are in-game features that Ouroboros will learn on their journey. Those exploring the eastern Fornis Region may have noticed the Milio Trick Caverns above the Namba Mound Camp.

Exploring the Milio Trick Caverns unlocks a Standard Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Fortunately, the quest itself can be done as soon as it's accepted. Like with most sidequests in XC3, there are a few prerequisites stopping players from entering the Milio Caverns too early.

Finding Milio Trick Caverns Entrance

The Fornis Region in XC3 is open for exploration once the Main Story's objective changes to "Ribbi Flats." For this to happen, continue helping Colony 4 at the start of Chapter 3. Eventually, players will be able to return to Colony 9 and Colony Gamma in the Aetia Region.

Make way for the question mark icon at the northwest of the Aetia Region to help a Colony Gamma member named Kyrie. Guide her back to Colony Gamma to unlock the Hero Quest Going Beyond Power. Completing this quest unlocks the Hero Teach, the Thaumaturge Class, and the Party Skill: Scree Walking. To reach Milio Caverns, players will need the Scree Walking ability.

With this done, fast-travel to Colony 4 and head east. If players are heading in the right direction, they'll see a sand slope that can only be climbed via Scree Walking. Going up here will unlock the Dannagh Desert. Head south from the slope to discover the Raptor Perch Landmark (refer to the above image).

If players look towards the mesa near Raptor Perch, they'll see a cavern entrance with level 24 enemies. This is the Milio Trick Caverns. Since the enemies here are level 24, it's not recommended to explore the caverns until players are at least level 26 or 27.

Milio Trick Caverns Layout

Entering the Milio Trick Caverns will change the map. For now, just follow the path. The Milio Trick Caverns have three main rooms (refer to above image).

Room #1

Eventually, players will come across a room with a giant mechanism. Interact with the device (magnifying glass icon) and use the R and L Buttons to move the orange circles to the green markers. Tapping L turns the switches counterclockwise, while R turns them clockwise. For the first puzzle, just rotate them left until the circles are aligned.

Room #2

Once this is complete, continue along the path. The road will split in two. The correct way is to continue straight, but an Ether Channel is at the end of the left route as well as a level 24 Elite Monster.

Instead of a puzzle, there are two Elite Monsters. Players will need to defeat them in order to proceed. Unfortunately, attacking one has a chance of drawing the other, which is why players will want to be around level 27. From here, continue south and then take the right narrow path to reach the third room.

Room #3

This puzzle functions like the one in the first room.

  1. For this, use the R button to get the bottom/second circle to the center where both larger circles meet (the middle)
  2. Tap L button once to move the circle from the middle to the top green slot.
  3. Then, tap R button to move the other circle around the right side until it reaches the center.
  4. Tap L button to move both circles into the green slots.

Completing this puzzle unlocks Sage's Garden. Collect the items lying around, and then make way for the door at the south of the room. This will lead to Sage's Domicile Landmark, where players can find two Nopon: Seekseek and Burrburr.

Nopon Coin X-Change

Speak to Seekseek, and he'll ask that players speak to Burrburr instead. Do as instructed, and this will unlock the Standard Quest: The Thrill of the Hunt. This quest is extremely easy if only a bit annoying with having to bounce back and forth between Nopon. If players don't want to sit through the dialogue, then just use the quest objective as a guide.

These two Nopon have a unique store called Nopon Coin X-change. The sell exclusive, legendary-rarity accessories, so it's definitely worth buying some. However, the Coin X-change, as its name implies, does not take gold as payment. Instead, they'll want Nopon Coins.

The following can be bought at the Coin X-change:

Spend some coins at the X-change, then speak to Burrburr to formally turn in the quest. This will give the following rewards:

  • 1160 EXP
  • 360 Gold
  • 3 SP
  • x4 Nopon Coin (Silver)
