In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players can unlock four different Traversal Skills that help them explore new areas of Aionios. These skills are Wall Climbing, Rope Sliding, Scree Walking, and Hazard Neutralization. This guide will show players how to unlock the Wall Climbing skill so that they can climb up those purple vines scattered around the world.

The good news about the Wall Climbing Traversal Skill is that it is unlocked as part of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's main story, so players cannot miss out on it. With the skill, players will be able to access the parts of the map that have yellow pickaxe icons, which can lead to unexplored areas and rare loot.

How to Unlock the Wall Climbing Skill in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

In Chapter 3 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players will eventually meet a Levnis Builder from Colony 30 named Valdi. They'll be able to recruit him and unlock the wall climb Traversal Skill by completing his Hero Quest, "The Kind Right Hand."

Players must go to three nearby areas to collect a Levnis Exoskeleton, a Levnis Self-Charger, and a Levnis Auxiliary CPU. The three items will appear on the map for players to follow, so it shouldn't take too long to get them for Valdi.

Players should keep following the quest steps until Colony 30's Flame Clock gets destroyed, liberating the outpost and freeing the people of the ongoing war between Keves and Agnus.

The Hero Quest will finally be completed, and players will earn 1160 XP, 1410 Gold, 10 SP, and most importantly, the ability to climb purple vines, which is inherited from Valdi himself.

Now, whenever players see those yellow pickaxe icons in the over-world, they can climb them with ease, no matter which character is currently the party leader.

Valdi Recruitment

Valdi will join the party as a new Hero once the quest comes to an end, and he's a great healer to have on the field. Being a War Medic, Valdi can heal members of the party with his Arts, which can come in handy when dealing with a tough boss fight in the story.
