Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has six party members to use in combat at once. Additionally, players can recruit a seventh member via the Hero Quest system. Recruiting the Heroes also gives the party access to new classes/jobs to use in battle, unlocking more abilities.
One of the best Heroes to recruit in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is Ashera, a commander known as The Undying Blade. She's the commander of Colony 11 and lives to fight on the battlefield. Her colonists also follow this Spartan-like mentality and are more prone to fighting than other colonists in Xenoblade 3. Ashera's class is The Lone Exile; it comes with one of the best-looking armor sets in the game, and she's arguably the best defender, making her job class a must.
Unlocking Ashera's Hero Quest
Locating Ashera isn't too hard, but she is a missable character when following the main story in Chapter 4 instead of opting to explore. When the story gets going in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, it is surprisingly easy to get carried away and miss all of the exclamation and question marks dotted all over the map.
Before attempting to unlock Ashera, the party should be at least Level 36-40. The higher the party's level, the easier time they'll have dealing with the waves of enemies in the quest.
The Wrath Of Ashera
- The Wrath of Ashera quest is at the Syra Hovering Reefs, en route to the castle in the main story.
- Walking through the area will trigger a cutscene in the main story.
- Instead of following the main quest route to the ziplines, take a left towards the colony.
- There will be a yellow marker for the Hero Quest in this location.
- Reaching the marker will activate a cutscene that introduces Ashera and her unusually dark sense of humor.
- After defeating the 7th Levnis Group, Ashera will join the party after requesting their help to reclaim Colony 11.
- Before moving on to the next quest marker, ensure the party has at least two healers.
- After defeating three groups of enemies, the party will now have to fight Consul R.
- Consul R will immediately transform into Moebius R.
- With a high enough level, the fight shouldn't cause the party too much trouble.
- In combat, hold down ZL to access tactics and select Fusion First to encourage the party to use their Fusion Arts and transform into Xenoblade 3's Ouroboros.
- After the battle, Ashera will join the party as a permanent member. Eunice is the first character that can access Ashera's Lone Exile class.
- After the cutscene destroying the Flame Clock, Colony 11 will become available.
As stated, Ashera has the best defensive class in the game. Learning The Lone Exile Class with Gray's Full Metal Jaguar class will ensure the party has the best defensive and offensive jobs in Xenoblade 3.
