The new Xbox Wireless Headset officially releases tomorrow, March 16, but was revealed back in February, with pre-orders quickly selling out. The Xbox Wireless Headset is still available for pre-order and stock of the item has been quickly filling and selling out in the Microsoft Store. Fans who can secure an order for the Xbox Wireless Headset will also be given an extra bonus, as long as the headset is purchased before September 30.

Orders of the new Xbox Wireless Headset will automatically come with a free six-month trial of Dolby Atmos. Using the Dolby Access App, headset owners will be able to access the premium features of Dolby Atmos upon opening the app when using the Xbox Wireless Headset. While the headset automatically comes with the spatial sound experience Windows Sonic, headset owners can try a different audio experience with Dolby Atmos to compare the different spatial audio enhancements. Activating the Dolby Atmos six-month free trial is fairly straightforward, according to Xbox Wireless Headset architect Eric Garcia.

Garcia explains, "You can download Dolby Access. And literally once you open it up, it will recognise, 'Hey, you have a Xbox Wireless Headset.' And so what you have on the top right hand side, it'll say 'Xbox Wireless Headset' and it gives you an expiration. When you do this for the first time you will get a little toast that pops up saying, 'Hey, congratulations. You now have Dolby Atmos'."

Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology that can be implemented into headphones and other audio devices. The technology normally requires a $15 license, but with the six-month free trial, Xbox Wireless Headset owners can try the experience for free. With the Dolby Atmos technology, headset users will be further immersed in games, movies, and other media with 3D audio that flows seamlessly all around.

Many Xbox titles have been optimized for the Dolby Atmos experience including Call of Duty: WarzoneCyberpunk 2077, and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Using the Dolby Atmos technology, these titles have a deeper audio experience with all the sounds of the games happening all around the player.

Racing titles are also very popular for the Dolby Atmos technology. A number of titles including Codemaster's Dirt 5 and GRID utilize the Dolby Atmos technology to enable players to feel as if they are in the vehicle immersed in all the sounds of an actual race.

With the Xbox Wireless Headset officially releasing tomorrow, many PC and Xbox players may be trying to secure the headset as the stock refills. It seems the Xbox Wireless Headset is slated for a big launch, with many enticing features that can be used on the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, or PC. As the new headset launches, Xbox users may be on the lookout for other Xbox products being announced as well.
