The Xbox Series X has been host to a number of impressive custom designs, some being simple mock-ups created by fans and others being complex special editions. While there’s always beauty in the simplicity of the basic black box, it’s hard to deny that the extra color and patterns on special edition versions are appealing. For those looking for a bold orange design, there’s a special collaboration with Whataburger happening that might be worth looking into.

This special edition Xbox Series X isn’t coming through an official source, however, as it’s a collaboration between Whataburger and streamer Nick Michelle Polo, who goes by Nmplol on Twitch. While the streamer didn’t offer much about the specifics of the giveaway in his tweet, he confirmed that the special edition Whataburger console would be part of a stream on September 28, where he’ll be trying out the return of a “fan favorite menu item.”

The console is pretty striking, and will certainly stick out in whatever room the winner decides to put it in. It’s a deep orange color with red accented decals all around it, a white Whataburger logo giving it some official branding. While it’s something of a scattershot design, the color palette is appealing in its own right.

Of course, some might be turned off with the branding on the system, but it’s hard to deny the appeal of a free console. While there does seem to be restocks for PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles happening more frequently in recent weeks, there’s still a console shortage making the systems harder to get. Tthe odds of winning a console in a giveaway are slim, but those that have tried and failed to get a new system for nearly a year now might as well take any chance they can get.

Fast food collaborations with game consoles are pretty common these days. During the PS4 and Xbox One era, fast food companies like Taco Bell would give away free consoles, often with their own special designs or unique system designs, like an Xbox One console that made the Taco Bell chime sound when powering it on.

Video game crossovers with brands have grown alongside the industry itself. With more influencers and streamers on the internet now than ever before, giveaways like these are unlikely to slow down. Ultimately, though, that’s a good thing for those looking for any opportunity to bag a new console.
