The next-gen wave of consoles is still slated for the holiday season of this year, despite the coronavirus impacting just about everything else in the gaming world. Now a leak has come to light that indicates that Microsoft will be revealing more to do with its own upcoming Xbox Series X shortly.

Microsoft previously revealed the Xbox Series X for the first time during The Game Awards late last year, where it excited fans but also drew comparisons to refrigerators for its appearance. Since then the PS5 has also had a specs reveal, but fans still don't know what the console will actually look like.

Microsoft leaker Timdog revealed on Twitter that the Xbox Series X will allegedly be having two more reveal events coming up this year. According to TimDog, Microsoft will be holding an Inside Xbox event in June, with 'something' else coming in May. In addition, he claims that the codename Lockhart model is still in the works, which will allegedly be the more affordable variant of the Xbox Series X.

The Inside Xbox event will likely take the place of E3 2020 for Microsoft, which Microsoft previously announced it would be shifting to after the major gaming event was canceled due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. However, the details of the May event remain a mystery. It seems unusual that Microsoft would split up its reveal events into two sequential months, but there's likely a lot to go over both for the console itself as well as the upcoming games that will launch on the platform.

While some have been critical of the Xbox Series X's appearance, the majority of fans seem to be excited about what the console can do. The Xbox Series X can support ray-tracing technology, which has previously been limited to PCs with high quality (and expensive) video cards. Although there are still some unanswered questions regarding the Xbox Series X, it's also been revealed that the Xbox Series X will support 8K gaming and can run games at up to 120 FPS.

There's still plenty under wraps regarding the Xbox Series X, including its price. With any luck, fans won't have to wait any later than June to get all the details on this upcoming console.

The Xbox Series X is slated to release during the holiday season of 2020.
