Martha is Dead is an upcoming psychological horror game that many horror fans have had their eye on for a while now. Made by the same studio that developed The Town of LightMartha is Dead is looking to come out on the Xbox Series X and PC. Although the game has had numerous trailers release already, the official gameplay trailer has finally premiered.

Of the many horror games coming to Xbox Series XMartha is Dead is one that many in the gaming community are looking forward to. The game promises to return to the slower-paced, sinister atmosphere of other similar psychological horror titles, and the recent gameplay trailer certainly reflects that sentiment.

The first thing that many will notice in the gameplay trailer is that the developers kept their promise in terms of delivering realistic graphics for Martha is Dead. The high level of polish and detail on the hands shown from the first-person perspective at the beginning of the trailer is almost spooky enough on its own, though, things didn't stop there.

Nearly fourteen minutes of gameplay was shown off, and visually speaking, Martha is Dead is absolutely breathtaking. For pre-alpha footage, the game is remarkable from a graphical standpoint. With dark, candlelit rooms, a calm quiet forest, and a sunny Italian countryside, the game looks like it will offer players numerous locations to explore and experience. Developers really were not kidding when they said that the Xbox Series X would offer lifelike graphics.

The gameplay itself was very narrative centric, which makes sense for a psychological horror title. There were numerous scripted events and gameplay was largely passed over in favor of the finer details of the story. It seems this game will, for better or for worse, follow the same intense level of storytelling as its predecessor The Town of Light.

For the longest time, both Microsoft and Sony have toted some rather impressive claims regarding how powerful their respective consoles are. Capcom has claimed that Resident Evil 8 won't have load times thanks to the new consoles' power, which is already quite ambitious by itself. However, if this gameplay showcase is any indication of the capabilities of the Xbox Series X, it seems like everything that Microsoft has been saying about its console may be true. Only time will tell if any of these claims hold any water.

Martha is Dead is set to launch in 2021 for Xbox Series X and PC.
