10 Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 is parkour meets the zombie survival horror genre. It's confirmed that Dying Light 2 will come to the Xbox Series X. Keep in mind that this game's been in development for quite some time. It was first announced at E3 2018 during an Xbox press conference. Undoubtedly, developer Techland is the right company to spearhead this project. They did a phenomenal job adding content to Dying Light post-release.

This game is highly optimized for the Xbox Series X. As an exclusive, The Medium features patented "dual-reality gameplay." You'll be immersed in physical and spiritual worlds at the same time without the need for loading screens. It's too early to tell how this game will turn out, but it shows much promise in its early phase. The Medium is coming to Xbox Series X as a launch game for the platform in Holiday 2020.

8 Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Although the story has become more convoluted with each branching story, Assassin's Creed continues to prove relevant. The series' addictive gameplay, polished artwork, and various settings set new precedents for the industry.

The upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be widely available for platforms like Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It's based on the Viking invasion of Britain but follows fictional events. Raiding villages as Eivor (a female or male protagonist depending on your choice) will be too memorable.

7 Psychonauts 2

The original Psychonauts had lackluster sales figures, yet the game has since earned a cult following. Psychonauts 2's recently released gameplay trailer showcased what the devs at Double Fine have been working on. The game is more colorful but is still a platformer like its predecessor. Also, Jack Black will provide his voice in the game after already singing in the official gameplay trailer. Psychonauts 2 will be a day one Xbox Game Pass title.

6 Forza Motorsport

Forza Motorsport is an Xbox essential. It became the Xbox's definitive racing series after Project Gotham Racing ended on the Xbox 360. Forza Motorsport is coming to the Xbox Series X, and Turn 10 Studios isn't shying away from the latest technology like ray tracing and 4K at 60 frames per second. They will look at games from the entire series for inspiration and not just the most recent ones. Forza Motorsport is expected to release in 2021.

5 Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

The devs at Ninja Theory are preparing for a wide release with their latest action-adventure game. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II appears to be more ambitious than the original game, although it will still profoundly address mental health issues.

It's looking like the wait will be a while for The Elder Scrolls VI. Meanwhile, gamers can take comfort in knowing that Avowed is coming soon.

This multi-platform game is shaping up to be one of the hottest Xbox Series X games. Cyberpunk 2077 is a role-playing game set in a dystopian society. The game blends technological advancements with pervasive poverty. This game has been in development for almost ten years, but earnest development didn't occur until people became interested in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (a game from the same developer)The gameplay videos show promise, and this could be the Xbox Series X's best game.

Fable 4 is one of the several highly anticipated RPGs set to release for Xbox Series X. July's Xbox Games Showcase was an eye-opening event. Possibly the biggest surprise was the announcement of a new Fable game. Fable was a leading RPG on the original Xbox and Xbox 360.

Playground Games, the company behind the Forza series, is developing Fable 4. The game will relate to previous Fable games, but for the most part, it's going to be a new start for the series.

1 Halo Infinite

The headliner from the Xbox Games Showcase was Halo Infinite. It kicked off the event with a lengthy gameplay trailer. Master Chief now has a grappling hook! Halo Infinite will support free-to-play multiplayer, which could fundamentally shift the way we think about Halo. Could 343 Industries be alluding to a battle royale mode?

Halo Infinite uses an art style reminiscent of the early games. The decision to go back to the series' roots is a divisive one. However, the gameplay demo is not a final representation, and there's lots of time to turn it around.
