Many fans have been looking forward to the Xbox Series X as it continues the legacy of a well-received console franchise.  The Xbox Series X has already showcased impressive specifications but players have yet to be truly moved by gameplay footage from the console. Fortunately for fans of the console, there seem to be some elements that cannot be seen through video, although players will wonder how they can experience these features without purchasing the product.

There have already been opportunities to see gameplay on the Xbox Series X such as the Xbox 20/20 May Event, although this event had a mixed reception. Yet the Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has recently claimed that the true leaps the console makes from the previous generation cannot be shown through gameplay. It seems that the next Xbox console will feel different from previous iterations.

In an interview on Reggie Fils-aime podcast, Spencer explained the benefits of the Xbox Series X which aren't evident through video, "One of the things I've talked about publicly ... but it's hard to come across, is the way it feels to play games on a box where frame rates are higher, frame rates are more stable." Many would agree that elements such as frame rates are hard to demonstrate, and Spencer went on to explain the challenge of showcasing the upgrades, "The fluidity of it, showing that in video form, is just impossible. How do you show how something feels?" Many players will now be interested in trying out games on the console to see this tangible difference, although the fluidity of gameplay may not be a deciding factor for some consumers.

Although Spencer raised an interesting point in terms of game immersion, "We're getting to the point where the immersion feel that you get through fluidity and other things are now up to par with the visual capabilities that we have" many will also want in interesting new titles. If the Xbox Series X delivers a unique experience, players will want this on exciting new titles and many are still wondering how the Xbox will deliver in that department. It seems that the July Xbox 20/20 event will reveal the first party titles the console has to offer and this will be an important event for consumers and Xbox.

Many players will be intrigued by the comments made by Spencer, but the success of a console is multi-faceted. Naturally, other elements such as price will affect the success of the Xbox Series X, and the console will need to deliver in a number of areas to win over more consumers.
