With the release of the Xbox Series X just a little over a month away, many gaming enthusiasts frok around the world have begun to pre-order the next-gen console. Though, Xbox fans in Turkey are having a slight problem compared to other countries. The Xbox Series X costs about four times as much in Turkey than it is nearly anywhere else in the world.

It took a while before the official price and release date of the Xbox Series X was unveiled. In the time before the announcement, a multitude of leaks and online speculation had sprung up. Though, once it was finally revealed, fans all over the globe were decently satisfied with its price, but now it seems that Turkish consumers may have quite a problem in terms of cost.

While the Xbox Series X pre-orders have sold out in Australia and other countries, the price of the console in other countries has been increased, due to a variety of different factors. Turkey has multiple new tax policies that have caused the prices of gaming hardware to drastically spike. In addition to an import tax, sales tax, luxury tax, and a value added tax, the total price of the console in Turkey is over $1200.

Obviously, this led to many Turkish members of the gaming community to being incredibly angry. It seems rather unrealistic to ask Turkish citizens to pay $700 in addition to the $500 the console is actually worth. Presumably, the Xbox Series X is already in limited supply, so it seems even less likely that Turkish consumers will be able to get their hands on the console in an accessible way at its initial launch.

In terms of the PS5, the official price of the console in Turkey has not been revealed, though if the price of the Xbox Series X in Turkey is any indication, it seems like the price of the PS5 won't be any better. This is a rather unfortunate ordeal and to make matters worse, Microsoft's alternative to paying for the console upfront is unavailable in Turkey.

Microsoft has recently implemented a payment plan called Xbox Series X All Access. This allows customers to pay $35 a month until the console has been officially paid off. Though, what's unfortunate is this payment policy is not available in Turkey. Sadly, Turkish gaming enthusiasts are stuck having to pay $1200 for a game console.

The Xbox Series X is set to launch on November 12th, 2020.
