Previously, it was reported that the Xbox Series X would likely retain the Xbox One dashboard at launch, but that's no longer the case. While the Xbox Series X and Xbox One will indeed have the same dashboard on launch day, it will be in the form of a brand new dashboard that Microsoft is pushing as the New Xbox Experience.

Microsoft showcased the new Xbox Series X dashboard in a recent video, showing how the dashboard streamlines everything to allow gamers to get into their games quicker than ever before. The new Xbox Series X dashboard is promised to be faster than the previous iteration of the Xbox dashboard, with players able to boot up and switch between games faster. Even with these improvements, though, the Xbox Series X dashboard reportedly uses 40 percent less memory than the current dashboard, allocating more memory to power games.

Another improvement coming with the Xbox Series X dashboard that was detailed in the video is in regards to sharing game clips and screenshots. Now whenever Xbox users share game clips and screenshots, it will immediately go to their phone, allowing them to share the content with their friends instantly. This should streamline the process quite a bit, and prevent instances of players just standing around in multiplayer matches trying to show their friends a cool clip.

The new dashboard will be available for Xbox Series X at launch, at which point it will also be released for the Xbox One family of systems. However, it remains to be seen exactly when that will be. Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Series X launch month is November, but has stopped short of providing a specific release date so far.

It's unclear exactly when Microsoft will announce the Xbox Series X release date. Previously, it was believed that Microsoft would make the release date announcement at some point this month, but now rumors point to the Xbox Series X release date announcement coming at some point in September instead. Until Microsoft itself makes the announcement, all fans can do is speculate.

Besides a release date announcement, fans are also anxious to learn the Xbox Series X price and what its launch titles will consist of. With Halo Infinite delayed to 2021, the Xbox Series X appears to be missing a major launch title this holiday season, so hopefully Microsoft has something up its sleeve to convince consumers to pick up its new console.
