Microsoft has yet to announce the release date for its next-generation console, the Xbox Series X, but fans can get a cinder block version of it right now - assuming they've got some serious cash on them. TikTok user rustyvanranch, who sells things on eBay as therustyrelic, has created an Xbox Series X cinder block that is currently being sold for a staggering $88,100 on the online auction website.

Of course, it goes without saying that the vast majority of bids for the Xbox Series X cinder block are fraudulent, but it's still amusing to see happen regardless. Anyone that wants to try bidding on the console for themselves still have a few days to do so, but it should be noted that there are now plenty of copycat versions of the cinder block console being sold on eBay as well. Those are much cheaper so far, but many are still going for thousands of dollars at the time of this writing. Click here to see the listing.

Whenever joke bids like this happen, eBay usually winds up pulling the products from sale. Of course, there is the off-chance that some ultra-rich individual genuinely wants to purchase the Xbox Series X cinder block for $88,100, but it seems highly unlikely.

The Xbox Series X has been compared to more objects than just cinder blocks. One of the most popular comparisons is that the Xbox Series X looks like a fridge, and so maybe a functioning fridge that looks like the console could sell for an even higher price on eBay.

The PlayStation 5, meanwhile, has also had its shape mocked by fans online. While there are many who are impressed by the PlayStation 5 console design, there are many more who think that it looks like a wi-fi router. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X designs are quite the departure from previous console generations, but fans will likely get used to the way they look with time.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how much higher this Xbox Series X cinder block bidding goes up, and if it inspires PS5 copycats as well.
