With the Nintendo Switch on its way in a few months time, it's no wonder the PlayStation 4 Slim and Xbox One S are both receiving competitive sub-$250 pricing during this holiday weekend.

For President's Day weekend, head over to your local (and online) Microsoft Store and you'll be able to pick up the new Halo Wars 2 1TB Xbox One S bundle... not for the $349 pre-order list price, but instead she's been reduced to $299 on her launch day. Plus, get a free game of your choice.

While Microsoft hardly ever gives discount during a product launch, the deal is part of a weekend Presidents Day sale at the Microsoft Store where they, and other authorized retailers have dropped the Xbox One S console bundles by $50 across the board. Unlike other retailers though, Microsoft is throwing in the free aforementioned Ubisoft game of your choice (such as Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate). There are several Xbox One S consoles with bonuses but arguably the best system to pick is today's release of Halo Wars 2 bundle.

If you're wondering what the best PS4 Slim or Xbox One S deals are for 2017, we've got you covered. The cheapest Xbox One S deal is at Jet.com where you can pick up a Minecraft bundle for only $222.29 after using coupon TRIPLE15 during checkout. The cheapest 1TB Xbox One S bundle is the Gears of War 4 bundle at $269.24 using the same coupon. For the newest Xbox One S bundle, the 1TB Halo Wars 2 is also a great pick at $299 with a choice of an extra free game.

Over at PlayStation 4 Slim, the best deals yet for 2014 is also via Jet.com, you can pick up a PS4 Slim Uncharted 4 bundle or Infinite Warfare Legacy bundle at $219 each respectively, also by using TRIPLE15 during checkout. What may also be going on in the mind over at Microsoft is that earlier this week Sony has authorized retailers to drop the PS4 Slim bundles to $249.99 through February 25, and now Microsoft is matching. What really stands out among the various PlayStation 4 deals at retailer is at Walmart-owned Jet.com. There, you'll find their popular 15% off new customer code now working on select console system bundles (these previously would not apply on any console systems). These consoles not only have new instant savings available on both PS4 and Xbox One consoles, but the coupon stacks for an additional $30 off.

The result at Jet are the lowest prices in 2017 on PS4 Slim and Xbox One S consoles. The PS4 Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Uncharted 4 bundles have dropped to a mere $219 - which is especially good for the Infinite Warfare bundles since it missed the previous holiday PS4 Slim price drop to $250 back in early December. On the Xbox One S side of things, select consoles have never been cheaper including the red Xbox One S 2TB Gears of War 4 bundle slashed from the original $500 to $337. That's over $163 in discount for a 2TB system!

Note that while the manufacturer declared expiration for the $50 discount is on February 20 for the Xbox One S and February 25 for the PlayStation 4 Slim, Jet.com does not have a clear expiration for their 15% off coupon working on console systems - so if you're interested in either system in the near future and want to slash another $30 off the already reduced price, we'd jump on these deals sooner rather than later.
