Microsoft has released a number of very limited, custom Xbox One consoles over the years, usually as part of sweepstakes or third-party contests. It has now taken to Twitter to reveal its latest custom Xbox One X console and controller, which are based on the Nabisco cookie Oreos.

While that may sound ridiculous to some people, the white and black-speckled console actually looks pretty cool. It almost looks like someone dipped an Xbox One into Oreo Fluff or Oreo-flavored ice cream. It may not be quite as fancy as some of the other custom Xbox Ones we've seen in the past, like the platinum Xbox One in the Taco Bell contest, but it's still a neat design, and will no doubt become a collector's item.

The contest is only open to those living in Canada or the United States (including Puerto Rico), and asks consumers to scan a package of Oreos for a chance to win the custom console. Anyone interested in participating in the contest can scan a new code daily to increase their odds.

Winning an Oreo-themed Xbox One X would be nice, but unfortunately, the odds of winning the contest are slim to none. Luckily, Microsoft offers tools for users to create their own custom Xbox hardware through the Xbox Design Lab. The service doesn't extend to custom consoles yet, but players can at least design their very own controllers.

In the future, it's possible that the Xbox Design Lab may be expanded to include even more options for custom Xbox One hardware. Then again, since we're getting close to the end of the current console generation, perhaps these new options will be saved for the debut of the next-generation Xbox consoles, currently known by their codenames Anaconda, Lockhart, and Scarlet.

Of course, that's just speculation at this time, and even if Xbox Design Lab allowed for custom Xbox One consoles, it's unlikely that it would allow players to make it Oreo-themed. So anyone who wants an Oreo-themed custom Xbox One will want to be sure to enter the sweepstakes.
