Microsoft has been incredibly creative when it comes to releasing specialized versions of the Xbox. Last month, the company unveiled the Xbox Game Pass Quests: Summer Edition that challenges Game Pass subscribers to complete specific tasks for a chance to win smaller prizes and a gold-plated Xbox One X Scorpio Edition.

The company revealed that the event will go all summer long, but did not specify an end date. For this month, the mechanics remained the same, although the quests have changed. Most importantly, a recent post via the official Twitter account of Xbox stated that the gold-plated console is still the grand prize for this month’s quests. Of course, participating players must first have an active Xbox Gold subscription to gain access and partake in Xbox Quests, which can be found by going into the Featured section of the Gold Membership Area.

This month’s objectives are simple: first, players must spend at least 30 minutes each day on any multiplayer game until August 20. Second, players must unlock seven new achievements beginning August 21-27. All players who complete the tasks stated will win a “mystery prize” from the company, but only one will be lucky enough to take home the grand prize.

Although a subscription to Game Pass is required to participate in the challenge, Microsoft has added tons of great games to the service this month. Titles such as Capcom’s Dead Rising 2, Team 17’s The Escapists: The Walking Dead, and IO Interactive’s Hitman to name a few, have all been added. Given that Microsoft is committed to adding more games to the service, the $10 per month subscription fee is not bad at all.

In other Xbox hardware news, recent rumors popped up claiming that Microsoft is on the verge of announcing the second version of the Xbox Elite Controller, which is said to be priced at $149 and will ship as early as October this year. Microsoft is yet to confirm the rumors, but given that Microsoft Xbox is listed as an exhibitor at this month’s Gamescom, it would be no surprise if the company discussed the future of the Elite Controller at the event.
