Making the leap to 4K gaming can be an expensive endeavor, especially considering most folks need to upgrade both their display and computer or console. Thankfully, GameStop's latest trade deals are giving shoppers a lot more for their old hardware when it goes towards the purchase of a new Xbox One X console.

For anyone that has walked into GameStop with a box full of games and left with a 60-cent gift card, the prospect of trading in a console may not seem especially appealing. However, depending on the console in question, Xbox fans looking to experience 4K gaming can get their hands on a brand new Xbox One X for only $200.

That being said, the only way to get one that cheap is by trading in a PS4 Pro, which is also capable of running games in native 4K resolution. Still, the promotion offers those interested $50 more than the normal trade-in value for a PS4 Pro.

Xbox One X console and controller

Even without a PS4 Pro, GameStop's newest trade-in promotion offers some legitimate value for old consoles. Trading in a Nintendo Switch, PS4 Slim, original PS4, or Xbox One S lowers the price of an Xbox One X by $250. Even those with an original Xbox One can upgrade to the Xbox One X for $300 after trading in their old console. In any case, these values are $100 more than what the consoles would normally trade for at GameStop. Those interested in taking advantage of the boosted trade-in values will need to do so within the next few days, as the promotion ends this Sunday, October 28.

Alternatively, those who'd prefer to put things in the hands of fate and fortune can try their luck at winning an Xbox One X in Taco Bell's latest giveaway. For a limited time, anyone who purchases a Double Chalupa Box from a participating Taco Bell will have the chance to win a prize pack that includes an Xbox One X, Special Edition Xbox Elite Wireless Controller and three months of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.
