Xbox Australia reveals the Xbox Inflatable, a large Xbox One S floaty pool toy that Australians can win as part of an Australian Day celebration contest.

Earlier this year, Xbox Australia made headlines when it introduced the limited edition Xbox Onesie. The unique fashion statement released alongside the Xbox One S launch in Australia and offered gamers the opportunity to win a pair of the gaming pajamas.

With the Xbox Onesie making such a hit, it’s no surprise to see Xbox Australia at it again. The organization announced (via Facebook)that its latest offering is the Xbox Inflatable, a large inflatable Xbox One S controller that can be used in the pool, ocean, or wherever gamers like to swim.

The Xbox Inflatable controller commemorates Australia Day – a day when Australians leave the air-conditioned comfort of their homes to hit the pool or ocean to celebrate the hot weather.

Xbox Australia’s press release on the floaty provides a tongue-in-cheek description of the prize, informing potential winners that the giant controller isn’t able to be used as an actual gaming controller, but can still be quite useful on a hot summer day (it's currently summer in Australia, which is in the southern hemisphere).

“[T]he Limited Edition Giant Inflatable Xbox One S Controller is not compatible with the Xbox One or Xbox One S gaming console, Xbox One Play and Charge Kit, Xbox One Chat Headset, or Xbox One Stereo Headset. It is however suitable for use in swimming pools, fresh water pools or the ocean, all summer long.”

In order to win one of the Xbox Inflatable controllers, Australians need to like the Microsoft Store Facebook page and tell the company in 25 words or less “what your ideal Australia Day would be!” According to the Facebook post, the most creative answers will win. The official rules claim the competition ends at 9:00 AM on January 20th local time, and a panel of judges will review the entries and choose 200 winners.

There’s no word on whether the Xbox Inflatable controller will be offered beyond the Facebook promotion or if Microsoft will sell the unique creation outside Australia. There are undoubtedly many gamers who would love to get their hands on one. If the limited edition floaty is relegated to the Facebook promotion, winners may potentially fetch a decent price by selling the inflatable controller online once they obtain it.

In the meantime, Australians interested in acquiring an Xbox Inflatable will want to enter the contest quickly before the promotion comes to an end.
