Xbox and console giveaways have gone hand in hand throughout the history of Microsoft's flagship gaming brand as the console line has often featured unique and striking consoles and controllers based on different games and designs. From the Tartan controller revealed earlier this year with an authentic Scottish kilt on the faceplate to unusual builds like the Far Cry 6 Xbox Series X, Microsoft's console giveaways often showcase some of the most popular games and movies in the industry, and its newest giveaway celebrates one of gaming's biggest properties, Minecraft.Xbox launches its newest Minecraft-themed giveaway as the popular open-world sandbox game is gearing up for one of the biggest updates in its thirteen-year history, the highly-anticipated "Wild Update" set to launch later this year. The new update will feature a plethora of new mobs for players to encounter, underground cities containing plenty of loot and tools, as well as the addition of two new biomes. One of these new locales, the Deep Dark, serves as the star of Xbox's newest giveaway with fans able to win a Deep Dark-themed bundle packed with a console, controller, and more.RELATED: Minecraft Reveals Details for 'The Wild' Update Coming in 2022The giveaway, announced last week by Microsoft, will be exclusive to Microsoft Rewards members, prompting interested fans to join and enter for a chance to win the Deep Dark Minecraft Xbox Series S bundle. The grand prize bundle contains a gorgeous console and controller themed around the dark color scheme of Minecraft's newest biome, as well as a custom SecretLab TITAN Evo 2022 gaming chair with a Minecraft design. The prize also includes a storage expansion card for the Xbox Series S and 12 months of Game Pass Ultimate.

Microsoft Rewards members can enter the giveaway using their rewards points with one entry costing 200 points. Sign-up for the company's rewards program are free for new members, however entry is limited to United States residents. Microsoft's newest Rewards giveaway comes after the company introduced new daily quests for Xbox players to earn rewards points easier through the official Xbox app. The giveaway is set to run through the end of next month with an official end date to the giveaway set for June 30.

Xbox's newest giveaway celebrating the massive Minecraft update comes as the game has already seen several major changes over recent years. The two-part "Caves and Cliffs" update released over the second half of 2021 saw massive changes to the game's world generation and tons of new items and mobs added, while Minecraft officially added support for ray tracing near the end of 2020. With the Wild Update set to bring a plethora of new content for players to explore, Minecraft continues to give players even more reasons to dive into its world once again.
