Plenty of players have been on the lookout for more news on the Xbox gaming event in March. While there have been various leaks and rumors about the Xbox gaming event, now there is official news about what to expect later this month straight from Xbox.

A recent post from Xbox Wire revealed details about the Xbox March 2021 event, what it is, what will be featured, and where players can check it out. Xbox's ID@Xbox and Twitch will be partnering up to host an online showcase event next Friday, March 26, and it will show many independent games, some of which players may be familiar with.

The event will feature plenty of new independent titles, some that are already coming out, along with new titles, too. According to Xbox Wire, the showcase will debut new trailers and gameplay videos for more than 25 games. This includes Second Extinction, The Ascent, The Wild at Heart, Voidtrain, and Exo One. It will also feature an update on the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the upcoming survival horror that will be releasing on the Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one of its launch.

ID@Xbox is the Independent and Digital games publishing program for Xbox. It allows independent game developers to self-publish digital games on Xbox One and Windows 10 via Xbox Live, and mobile devices. For this event, ID@Xbox will be teaming up with Twitch for the first time. According to the post, as part of the collaboration, the Twitch gaming showcase will feature over 100 indie video games.

There will be promotions for games from developers and publishers around the globe, including Drinkbox Studios, Curve Digital, Devolver Digital, and more. The event will have Community-favorite Twitch streamers to host the showcase, though Xbox Wire doesn't say who. The streamers will also be handling interviews with game developers, take fan questions, and even drop some game codes as well.

According to the post, the Xbox Twitch gaming showcase event will start on Friday, March 26 at 9:00 a.m. PDT. However, the post points out this is a window where time has changed in the US but not in other parts of the world, so the writer advises viewers to plan accordingly. The post used the example of how in the UK, the showcase will begin at 16:00 and not 17:00 as it would normally. The showcase can be viewed exclusively on the Twitch pages for both Twitch Gaming and Xbox.
